Great little cafe. The staff is very friendly and the owner makes all the customers feel welcome. They have a great selection of vegan snacks/pastries and sandwiches. I'm not vegan but I love their pastries! I usually get the Americano or chai and it's always made exactly how I like it. Has a nice atmosphere, I like to bring a book and read for awhile. Definitely the best place for a coffee and a snack in the area.
The cafe has new owners and it's made a difference. The food is fresh and so delicious! Their drinks are made really well, and service has been great every time I have gone in. Looking forward to my next visit!
Cool airy hipster café, with music to match it. Had a few baked goods for dessert option (their vegan chocolate chip walnut cookie was actually delicious). Good brewed coffee and cappuccino. Studied at the communal table in the back and they had a nice set up. Got busy between 930-1130 on a weekday but settled down by lunch hour.
Their bathroom was okay, not the most tidy. Overall cleanliness of the place was okay.
Their service was mixed, one guy super keen and happy to be a barista to greet you; whereas another guy seemed not so happy to be at work.. but it was my only time there so he could've been having a bad morning!
I've been to quite a few coffee shops and this one has a very interesting atmosphere. I love how the lights hang, it's very unique. It was very quiet, perfect to study or do homework. The barista was very friendly also, and the drink was good.
Choice of a pour over or aeropress for your coffee and choice of 2 different beans when I was there, which is nice. Nice, open space and sitting area. Freshly baked muffins, we had a feta/spinach and a ginger/pear.
At Bump n Grind, coffees are rotated weekly so that customers can try something new each visit. They use coffee beans from small roasters like Fernwood Coffee and Bows & Arrows Coffee Roasters based in Victoria and Phil and Sebastian from Calgary.

The Bump n Grind Cafe has now opened their second location in the vibrant community of South Granville. I was very fortunate to have been invited to their grand opening media event and had a chance to learn more about this Vancouver-based independent specialty coffee house. Bump n Grind is a multi-roaster cafe, where owners Cheryl and Kyle Wright bring best handcrafted coffee beans roasted from across Canada. They also rotate coffees on a weekly basis so that customers will never be bored. Bump n Grind also offers alternative brewing methods, such as Pour-over coffee, Aeropress, and French press coffee. As I entered the cafe, I was drawn to the dramatic lighting fixtures that suspended from the ceiling. The overall design of the cafe is minimalist with wood accents. There is even a customized shelving display that spell out the cafe’s name. Can you see some of the letters in the photo below? One of the signature drinks of the night was the almond chocolate gibraltar. The presentation of the drink is beautiful and it really made me think that coffee is really an art! The taste of the drink was bitter from the espresso and sweet from the chocolate – kind of a ying and yang combination. Unfortunately, this drink is currently not on the regular menu. I am happy that I had the chance to try it! Bump n Grind cafe is known for their delectable baked foods and I am so glad that I got a chance to try them out! They are famous for the Mookie, which is a mix of a muffin or a cookie. I enjoyed the light and fluffy texture. It is dairy-free and made of oats, coconut flakes, dark chocolate, walnuts, whole-wheat flour, canola oil, soymilk, brown sugar, dinnamon and nutmeg. They also have the matcha green tea brownie , which they call “a marriage of east and west.” It is made of authentic Japanese matcha powder, eggs, flour, butter and white chocolate. I was invited to attend the grand opening media event of the second Bump n Grind Cafe last week and I had a total blast. I got to talk to Cheryl one of the owners and she told me all about the history of the cafe and that they decided to open Bump n Grind 2 at this location in the middle of South Granville because it’s community vibe. It’s not just their location that’s clientele based but their coffees are as well. They are a multi-roaster cafe and offers a variety of coffees. In fact, Cheryl told me that they change up their coffees on the weekly to ensure that you have a new experience each and every time you visit the cafe.
.... my new Friday office? It may very well be. A comfortable space at the quiet end of South Granville. The owner is friendly, elegant, welcoming and knows her drinks and food. I tried the chai which was rich and tasty. They also have a spiced version of it, along with 'spiked' drinks for those 18+. Teas that will go beautifully with my Friday desk. Most goodies are baked onsite and, as the lovely owner explained, capitalizing on the beverages of the café as baking ingredients. For example, the matcha brownie below is made with their matcha teas. Sweet, decadent and will get you going for 36 hours. In addition to the service, comfort, good beverages and food, the place has shelving spelling the name of the café. And on it are books to read as you lounge and enjoy your beverage. I just love this feature in cafés; and their selection of books is pretty good.

Bump N Grind Cafe’s second location is now open on South Granville. The space is gorgeous with great wood accents. Handcrafted coffee beans roasted across Canada are served up in perfect cups of coffee and espresso drinks. Coffees will rotate on a weekly basis so that you’ll always have an interesting cup of coffee. They also offer pour over coffees, aeropress and french press coffee. And as much as I love their coffees here – can we talk about their baked goods for a second? All these are made in house and are simply to die for.
