Good Indian Food !! We like Chole Puri , Chat , Veggie Samosa in appies !! They have spicy levels and hot is really hot !! Like the food here !! We usually order food regularly from here !!
2016 they still have veggie samosas for 75 cents and meat ones for $1. We bought 8 for a total of $6.30... If I went to UBC and wanted a samosa I would get 2 for that price and they would probably be even smaller. They were so good!!! Makes me wish I bought more so I could stash them for future snacking events. I have yet to try the other foods, was tempted in trying the roti.

Owner is consistent with the rule of three. As a resident of Fraserview, this place is my guilty pleasure for their pakoras. As of this review, their veggie pakoras are now $0.75/each from $0.50/each in 2013. Their chicken and meat pakoras were still $1.00 each. In the rule of three for restaurants, this restaurant provides good food at good prices with bad service. They're consistent with this rule and I'm okay with that.
In times when I want good food and good service, I'd head to restaurants west of Main Street.

Samosas still $1 in August 2012!. I wanted to reward myself for having a good check-up at my dentist on Fraser Street -- no fillings need replacement, woo-hoo! -- so I rode my bike uphill to New Bhaia Sweet Shop because I had read the reviews about the good samosas that only cost $1. I assumed the price had gone up since the previous Urbanspoon review in 2010, but it still seemed like a good place for a snack to mess up my newly polished teeth.
Well guess what? The samosas were still a buck apiece! Not only that, they were good. Triangles big enough to fill a man's palm, with crispy crust that told me they were cooked fresh, not pulled from under a heat lamp. The vegetable ones were all potato, no onions or other veg, and the chicken was a mince of round bits the texture of hamburger. They weren't especially spicy, but had enough exotic seasoning and peppery heat to please my semi-adventurous palate. Three samosas and a mango lassi, about 400 ml volume, only cost me $5.60!
New Bhaia has a full menu of other Indian savoury food, along with a display case of subcontinent sweets and nuts. They don't have the overwhelming variety of All-India Sweets at Main and 49th, but they looked fresh. I would have ordered some, but my dentist would have been so unhappy...
Should I?. I'm reticent to post this review because I don't necessarily want other people to know: samosa are good and cheap ($1 ea for the meat ones, 2/$1 for the veggie ones). Don't tell anyone else.
Good. This restaurant makes a high effort to make good quality food. The prices are reasonable and when I have sat in the service was fast and with a smile. I usually get food to go and the vegetable pakora is the best I have tasted in Vancouver.
