Usually come for dinner with family as the food is quite decent. The service has been hit and miss though, really depends on their staffing. Restaurant is in the basement level and feels a little odd as you feel cooped up underground. Main area of restaurant (there is also 2 private rooms) is quite tight when it is a busy night.
Enjoy their mustard green snack that they give you every time. Dishes are at good portions.
Parking can be tricky. There are a few free spots underground if you are lucky to get one. If not find parking on Granville or side streets. The parking lot charges $4 an hour.
Food - Delicious , especially good at making shark fin soup and dried scallop fried rice.
Dim Sum is great and hot. Deep fried pigeon is great.
Service - not ideal, I agree than some of the servers and manager are rude and low in morale, but there are a few good staff are efficient, polite and attentive.
We have to accept the fact that good restaurant attract business, so does this restaurant. We need to wait even we already have reservation. But having said that, I still give my vote to Grand Honor as one of the best restaurant in Vancouver.
Delicious food, unsavoury service. We were really impressed with the food at Grand Honour. Dishes that stuck out for me were the shark fin soup, egg-white fried rice (not at all greasy and cooked to perfection) and the sweet and sour pork (which could possibly be the best I've ever tasted). Service was less than ideal - very grumpy and rude waiter. But the food definitely made up for it!
