We went to this Indian Restaurant a few months ago in Marpole.
The place name means Chilly but the food was not over spicy at all and we were comfortable eating it.
We ordered pakoras for starters which were freshly fried and crispy.
For main course we ordered Daal, Mutter Paneer and Naan. The quantity of the dishes were sufficient for 3 of us and we enjoyed the flavour and taste of the food.
Ambience wise also the place was good enough. It's recommended!
Amazing food, savoury, the perfect amount of flavour in each bite. A bit spicy for me though, my family loved it. Dessert was my favourite, here
This restaurant is what you would describe as a hole in the wall because I would have easily walked past it if he didn't bring me here for a simple yet delicious dinner. We ordered the lamb and chicken (which was less spicy vs lamb). He got a mango yogurt drink which I kept drinking because it was really good. It took a bit of time before the rice and curry arrived and the naan came 5-10 minutes after. But the wait was definitely worth it because even though I can't eat spicy both the chicken and lamb was delicious. The chicken was very tender because the owner uses chicken thigh rather than the breast. The naan was amazing it was hot and very crispy because the owner freshly makes the naan only after the curry and rice are served. The waitress could not be reached too conveniently because she helps in the kitchen as well. But she was attentive and very nice. The owner was very nice and genuine as well - he showed me where the naan was made because I was amazed of how delicious it tasted (the best naan I have ever had so far). The food and people was great - I will definitely be back for more :D.
I am amazed at how genuine and true they are to their customers. They really make you feel like family. I went in here the other day and asked what I could have for $10. They gave me what I could afford from the lunch menu. However, when I went to go pay. He was so kind and said if I didn't have the money then to keep my money and to have a good evening I felt so blessed. I went back in today and gave him $20. Not only because the food is amazing, because I feel such an abundance of happiness and joy every time I eat here! Thank you! And God Bless
Looking for lunch place around Marpole & Mirchi was one of the restaurants with high ratings. It was very quiet during lunch hour. Had Chicken Curry with Naan. Very delicious despite spicy! Very friendly service.
amazing food and service. me and my parents go here on occasion. it is very family orientated and comfortable. I will start ordering here for pick up for my lunch. I will recommend it to everyone.
Good Tasting Chicken Coconut Milk with Curry Sauce. This restaurant make very good and tasty Chicken Coconut Milk with Curry Sauce. I love the way they good they curry dishes including the Butter Chicken. The family is from Pakistan and they cook Indian style food also. I met the owners family. They are very friendly people. I love the home made Roti flat bread. Some of my friends are not use to spicy food and some of the menu item might be too hot and too spicy. I love hot and spicy food. I have Indian friends. I have eaten in their house and if you are not use to it, you might find it too hot and to spicy.
I have friends who are born in northern part of the Philippines and they do not like hot and spicy foods like the southern part of the Philippines. Some people from Canada do not like Indian or hot and spicy food. I love Malaysian and Thai food. They are like the Southern Philippines food. In Southeast Asia, they like Coconut mix in to they food. Mirchi Indian Pakistani Restaurant knows how to mix coconut in to the food.
The prices are fair and quality of the food is good. Some people might find it expansive, but it is not fast food. It is a small restaurant, but the service is very good.
Yum!. Started with vegetable pakora which was really delicious, then ate chicken curry and karahi chicken , both freshly prepared. The nan bread was light and soft. The gentleman who cooked and served tables was very friendly. We can't wait to go back!
By far............The Best!. Before I talk about my consistent, pleasurable experiences at Mirchi, I just want to warn the readers that there is only one strange, negative review here and please do not base your judgement on that specific review.
If you want to taste the real flavors of India and Pakistan, cooked to perfection, consistently, Mirchi is the place for you. The food is cooked in your presence and that is why it sometimes takes up to 20 minutes during peak hours, which are typical lunch and dinner times. I think the fresh food is a great thing and is totally worth the wait. If you are a true foody and don't care too much about the McDonald style service, go to Mirchi and you will not be disappointed. Personal recommendation, try the Biryani (especially) that is made only on Fridays and Saturdays.
From a true fan.
Excellent, fresh Indian food. Dined at Mirchi last Saturday evening. We ordered Saag Paneer and butter chicken. Both dishes were excellent, as was the naan bread that came with it.
This is a no-frills place. The washroom smells of mothballs and the windows were steamed up. Not a place to go if you're proposing marriage, perhaps, but if you want a fine, inexpensive Indian meal this is a great option.
