Very authentic kind of Beijing food. Small place but cosy. The owner and staff are friendly. The roast Peking duck is just so good. Menu is short but dishes we ordered are all tasty.
Didn't know we had to reserve in advance if we wanted duck, but the manager was super kind and let us have the last one. Duck was cooked well, side dishes too. Just a little bit pricey and the crepes they use for the duck seem to be store-bought instead of homemade. Interior of the restaurant is very comfortable, waitress was superb.
The exterior reminded us of those "old towns" in Taiwan, we didn't think much about it but the smell was what caught our attention. If you weren't hungry to begin with, the aroma of the food will make you hungry. K and I both have never had traditional Beijing food so we decided to give it a go. K is a fan of really traditional Chinese decor, if he had a house this may be what he would want it to look like. Bacardi cups for water? Why not?!
