Hope everyone had an awesome weekend! Phil and I visited a high tea place located in the Kerrisdale area. There was a voucher on “Axka” – a Vancouver voucher purchasing website for Rose House Tea & Art. The vouchers vary on availability and also changes from time to time but I do recommend checking it out because sometimes they do have some great voucher deals on there! **they don’t have this deal anymore**
When I walked into Rose House, I felt the environment was quite comfortable. All the tea ware displays, tea for sale and all other decorations in the restaurant created a great atmosphere for a high tea place. The chairs were elegant and comfortable.
I came here for a friend's bridal shower. The server was very nice, polite and friendly. The way she talked and acted was very elegant showing a great attitude and manner. Six of us ordered two three-tier towers, two mushroom chowder soup, a two-tier tower and three different types of tea. All of us shared the food and tea. It was a great idea that we should taste a little bit of everything.
As I expected, everything tasted great. The presentation of all the food, cutleries, and tea ware on our tables was displayed properly. We could refill our tea twice.
The only downside or disadvantage that I found was the portion of the finger food (I.e. Sandwiches and desserts) was very small comparing to other high tea places that I tried before. Each three tier tower costs $28.95 per set. If I would have paid for the same price, I might have gone to Urban Tea Merchant, Adonia, and other high tea restaurants. I would not recommend to order the creamy mushroom chowder soup. The soup was quite filling but it was not very delicious.
My friend and I decided to visit Kerrisdale once again for afternoon tea. Rose House was the only tea house in Kerrisdale that we haven’t tried yet so of course we had to try it out! I made reservations on the phone the day before and it was quick and easy, the person who picked up was very professional. Rose house is in a very odd location. It’s on a side street instead of a main street and the outside doesn’t look very nice compared to the other tea houses around. The interior however, was alright. Not the fanciest or the cutest but still elegant looking.
