Would come back again!

I ordered the seafood + soft tofu hotpot ($12.99) and it was definitely the perfect dish for a cold evening. However, I'd probably order the smaller spicy seafood tofu soup next time as the hotpot was a bit too big for me to finish! We also ordered a seafood pancake to share. It was good considering how affordable it was ($8.99).

I'd probably come back here again with friends and eat it family-style just so we can get more things on the menu!

Wonderful no frills homey space, very kind friendly servers, and oh the soondubu... banchan wasn't anything spectacular but fine. The Korean Fried Chicken was lovely crispy and sauce was great. The soondubu was awesome. Broth was delicate and perfectly flavored and the spice level just right. We got the seafood soondubu and everything was cooked perfectly, even the squid (not rubbery at all!!!!) We had a little bonding moment with the 2 servers over the funny korean game show on the tv... It was a great experience. Now if only Portland had some good Korean restaurants...

Good value Korean food in downtown. This is my favorite to go place in downtown for some good value Korean hot bowl soup. Its around $9 for Gamjatang or Galbi tang which definitely warms you up on a cold day in Vancouver. Good selection of banchans as well!

My favorite place. One of my favorite dinning place in downtown Vancouver! I specially liked their appetizers and #76 the beef stone bowl ! So good! The food quality is superb and constant. Pork bone soup is nice too , just the portion is a little bit small. I recommend it to all my friends !

My favourite nook.... I recently moved to the area, and since being here Nor Boo has been a favourite place of mine. There are quite a few Korean restaurants around, but this one I find has some real character. It doesn't fall into the category of those flashy / ultra modern over-priced establishments. Though the décor is understated, I find the food to be delicious (everything but the pasta salad they serve complimentary, not sure why then even serve it). My current favourite is the neckbone soup. I usually get it to go, and it can last me 2 sittings. In summary, rather than rambling on, I find the service to get pleasant, food tastey, and prices reasonable, what else can you ask for?

Despite the shoddy service and its grunge and grime, Norboo’s Banchan and Beef Stone Bowl Soup have made this unassuming restaurant a long time favourite of mine. What is Korean food if not for Banchan? I would be lying if I said the complimentary servings of tasty kimchi, sweet potatoes, bean sprouts and most importantly the sweet tangy pasta salad did nothing to ease my misery. And if I’m being perfectly truthful, banchan eaten alone is way better than eating banchan together anyway because when it comes to the B, I hate sharing and I will not do it.

Nor Boo, in my mind, is a rarity as far as Korean restaurants in Downtown Vancouver goes. I find that Korean restaurants in Downtown Vancouver are either kind of pricey or they offer tapas, which gets expensive because I eat too much. Nor Boo is great because a) a meal won’t be overly expensive and b) the portions will fill you up.

As with all Korean restaurants, our meal came with a set of side dishes. Most of the ones we got were pretty traditional like the potatoes, beansprouts and kimchi but what was different was the pasta salad! Grayson really liked the pasta salad so I let him have all of it. To start we decided to order the pork steamed dumplings ($4.95). The dumplings were definitely house made and were jam packed with pork and chive filling. It also came with a dipping sauce but it wasn’t anything special or out of the ordinary. I’m not

The food here was good and I enjoy late night menus. Janice and I split a kim chi udon and deep fried kalamari (both solid but not spectacular).
