The London Fog cake brought me there after seeing it in The Baker Sisters... my daughter got the carrot cake. We loved them both!!! Will go again for sure.

The cake and cookies Cadeaux made for our wedding were delicious. We chose a banana cake with hazelnut ganache as our wedding cake, and mocha pecan white chocolate cookie favours. Our guests enjoyed both. Thank you!

Cadeaux is a cute little bakery that offers a nice assortment of pastries. I've visited them twice now. On my first visit, I had a Farmer's Market Quiche, which I thought was just okay, and their popular London Fog Cake slice, which I loved. On a more recent visit, I sampled their Ham & Cheddar Croissant and Raspberry Latte Cake slice.

Ham & Cheddar Croissant ($3.75): 4.5/5; Not much to say other than that it was flaky and buttery with a delicious savoury filling. I polished it off in no time.

Raspberry Latte Cake Slice ($6.25): 5/5; This is a real masterpiece. The cake itself was nice and moist. Because I got an end piece, I had considerably more frosting, which I was actually happy about because it was absolutely delicious: rich and chocolaty without being too sweet. Being five layers, the cake had two layers of aromatic mocha frosting and two layers of tangy raspberry frosting in between, both of which were delicious, with bold assertive flavours that went well with each other. Although Trafiq's Tiramisu still wears the crown for my favourite cake in Vancouver, I can confidently say that this cake wins the silver medal.

Based off of my two visits, I can say that Cadeaux Bakery sure knows how to make great cakes and is currently my 2nd favourite spot for cakes in Vancouver. Although they do also have a variety of other tasty-looking treats (salted caramel brownie, anyone?), I don't know if I'll ever be able to get to them because I cannot resist their cakes.

Cake. What is it that comes to mind? What kind of cake person are you? Are you the traditional buttercream kind of person or the creamy mousse? Chocolate cake anybody? There are very few bakeries that come to mind that still makes the good old fashion three layer sponge cake. Many bakeries now make beautiful intricate display of pastries that are a work of art (and highly Instagramable), but don't be mistaken a traditional cake is still art and it can still be very photogenic.

I've always wanted to go to Cadeaux Bakery, but I always miss it after work. So on this very special weekend, I made the trip into Downtown for a slice of cake. The shop has a few tables that allow guests to buy and eat with a nice cup of coffee or tea. It's an open kitchen design and you can witness the pastry chefs working away on one cake after another. The fridge didn't have too many selections available, but between the chocolate and the earl grey, I went for the latter. The slice of cake which costs around $7 was about 5in high and 2-2.5in wide. The size reminded me of the ones at True Confections.

First bite into the cake brought me memories of visiting a friend's house where their mom has made a cake - a comfortable sensation. The sponge cake was fluffy and the earl grey butter cream was light and aromatic, it was evident that there is earl grey flavour. The overall cake was moist and delightful. On the contrary, my friend's chocolate cake was less original, it was again moist but lacked a unique character.

I would definitely go back again. I think it's great when you want traditional three-layer cake, or a cake for celebration.

This place is amazing, always has something new and unique to try. The mocha/hot chocolate is the MOST authentic in Gastown. They use ganache and it makes an outstanding drink.   I got gifted an assorted treat box from there for Christmas and it had about 5 or 6 different unique treats to try including a delicious vegan sugar plum.
When you want to go above and beyond- this is where you need to go. 16 oz hot chocolate with mint, and a breakfast scone. Less than 10 dollars. Reasonable for Gastown.

Finally came to Cadeaux Bakery after hearing so much about their cakes. We came on an early afternoon and the shop was empty, so it was nice to have the whole place to ourselves. We order two drinks and a few desserts. I had their London fog and it was good. For desserts, we had a London fog cake, a blueberry panna cotta, and a Paris Brest. The London fog cake which I was looking forward to turned out a bit disappointing. I'm not sure if it is because they cut me the end piece, but there was too much cream yet the cake was still a bit dry. I couldn't really taste the "London fog" in the cake too. However the Paris Brest was quite tasty. The pastry was light yet had a good crust, and the cream in between wasn't overly sweet. The blueberry panna cotta was not bad, it wasn't as smooth as I preferred but I enjoyed the actual blueberries added in it.

Photographed on the blog: the savoury scone at Cadeaux Bakery calling my name! This place is bright and airy with beautiful floral accents and cute trinkets scattered around. It’s great because the kitchen is open and you can see them in action when ordering at the counter.

Lovely. Beautiful cakes and excellent coffee. Staff is friendly, there is an open concept kitchen so you can see everyone hard at work. A young bakery with lots of promise. The pastry chef Elenor is absolutely lovely.

Yum!. Earl grey cake is absolutely delicious, as are the lemon meringue and passionfruit tarts. the brownies were nice and fudgy with a salty caramel topping - very rich and very good. the coconut cookies were made with big shavings of coconut, and had a nice hint of lime, but i prefer macaroons with the coconut cut finer. the white chocolate cookies had an interesting hint of lemon - maybe not to everyone's taste, but i thought it was a nice match for the sweetness of the white chocolate. the counter person had made a lot of the treats, and was very helpful and knowledgeable. will definitely be back to try the croissants and cinnamon buns :)

Cadeaux is such an adorable little bakery and not to mention very photogenic!  We got to sample their lemon meringue tart and ginger molasses cookie, which were all very delicious.  Lemon tarts are one of my favorite desserts, and I felt Cadeaux did a wonderful job with it.  The tart crust was perfect in my opinion.  The English china made for a cute presentation of the desserts.  I also spotted very cute bourbon and lime truffles on their display.

I don’t quite recall how I found this place. I think I was randomly looking at some cake shops online and I came upon this. On a rainy Tuesday afternoon, I came here for a slice of cake to cheer myself up from the depressing weather Vancouver had been getting.
