I've walked by here many times, usually at night, and have always been curious, the decor from looking thru the window is charming Today on my search for brunch. I again walked by, then thought hey I should try Dock Lunch out. As I opened the slightly mirrored front door a feature that I loved, made me feel I could eat in peace without having folks watch me eat as they strolled by. I was greeted with a smile and a friendly voice. The ginger beer here is the closest thing to the ginger beer my mom made, my moms was a lil less lemon and a touch more ginger. It was tasty and refreshing. The migas Spanish comfort breakfast was fresh, the eggs where perfect, the chorizo sausage was just the right amount, didn't over take the dish. This is the best breakfast I've had on main St in a long time and It came with the cutest lil cup of smoothie. Every thing about Dock Lunch. Made me feel nourished. From the reggae dub not to loud, could hear my thoughts and just enjoy the space and energy of Dock Lunch. I will most definitely be going back there. A changed menu daily<---- This made my heart smile the most. It reminded me that there's still folks out their who are passionate about food, and how they choose to provide to us. I like this approach. Far kinder to my tastebuds and stomach.
Thank you Elizabeth for an amazing food experience. I will most definitely coming back !
Fantastic! Excellent food, great ambiance, friendly staff. Love the bath tub in the washroom, too!
A happy discovery of mine from back in 2012 or 2013, when I lived just around the corner. I go every chance I get, and it's where I take people from out of town when I want to make an impression. Aside from the fact that the food is extraordinary, the host-cook-owner, Elizabeth, is one of Vancouver's most notable community-builders.
