The décor could be described as minimalist, but each details has been thought carefully, from the logo, to those beautiful handmade lampshades. The spicy braised pork ribs dish is my favourite so far. The service was great, price really affordable. Definitively recommend this place to anyone looking for Delicious food in this area of Vancouver.
Beautiful decor and some of the best Korean food I've had. The multigrain rice has an amazing texture and I love the fish roe stone bowl rice. My wife loves the spicy braised pork ribs. The sauce is amazing and goes perfectly with the rice. Highly recommended, everything's so tasty!
Haru Korean Restaurant is open in Gastown serving homey Korean food. My friend and I were passing by for dinner and decided we wanted to give this place a try. We love to wander around downtown to find whatever restaurant interests us so we can find more of the hidden places around town. The interior is mostly wooden with accents of this colourful stripped fabric. There is a decent amount of space for small to large groups. For large groups, they take reservations.
Good little spot for lunch. Enjoyed the lunch special which was a generous portion of stirfried spicy squid, pork and veg, with rice and 3 side dishes for $15. I normally try to spend less at lunch but the serving size was generous and it was tasty.

Welcomed Addition to Gastown
Went for dinner last night with a friend. Had the Kimchi and Pork Gyoza and the Chicken and Lotus Root Special that came to about $20 per person. The Gyoza had a weird filling texture - more like tasteless Ricotta than Pork and Kimchi. However, the Special was delicious and came with three cold sides and rice. The Chicken was fall off the bone but the dish could have used more Lotus Root and skipped the mushy Carrot. The Soy sauce, Ginger, Sugar broth was rich in flavor and was enjoyable over the rice
Service was sleepy but I will be coming back. I like what they did with the space (before the space used to be an African cafe that looked totally suspect) and I'm curious to try out more menu items.
Great little Korean gem in the heart of gastown with tasteful decor and homestyle Korean food. I shared the hot stone bibimbap and japchae with my dining partner--both excellent. The food is subtly and delicately seasoned. Cooked with love. Well priced. We will definitely be back.
An amazing homestyle Korean restaurant with tasty and unique dishes. The décor was really nice and the vibe was very warm and welcoming. I like their focus on making alot of their sauces and other things which are normally outsourced by hand. It's almost like you can taste the time and effort they put into their food. My wife and I loved the fish roe stone bowl rice and the braised spicy pork ribs. The savoury sauce of the pork ribs and the excellent texture of the multigrain rice went perfectly together. A great place to try and indeed one of the best Korean meals I've had in this city. Highly recommended!
