If you can get past the 12 TV screens spread out across the room, this is one of the better pubs in Vancouver: cozy bar, above average pub food (chef seems to care), friendly service, good prices.

This is a sports bar/pub located on the intersection of 4th Avenue and Alma. While I haven't tried any of their drinks (I'm a non-drinker), they do have a pretty good food menu consisting of classic pub fare, including a couple of seasonal features. I had their Feature Flatbread and Pulled Pork and Grits. The food was quite tasty and fairly reasonably priced. The service, while a bit slow, was also quite friendly. While I can't say anything about the drinks (being a non-drinker), I think that this place is worth visiting for the food alone.

Feature Flabread ($15):
4/5
This was on part of their features menu and consists of four strips of bread that's topped with sausage, cheese, and caramelized onions, and is served with a side of salad. The flatbread was well toasted and crispy around the edges. The toppings were very flavourful; I particularly enjoyed the onions, which provided a great sweetness that complimented the saltiness of the sausage and cheese. The salad was also quite nice and contained a fair amount of tangy dressing as well as pumpkin seeds, which provided a great flavour and texture.

Pulled Pork and Grits ($17):
4/5
This was served with a biscuit. The pulled pork was tender and juicy, and very flavourful with a really nice sweetness. I was a bit put off by the shredded vegetable (I think it was beets) that was mixed in with the pork however. The grits was very smooth and creamy; it was a tad bland on its own, but paired very well with the pork. The biscuit was also buttery and tender.

Summary:
Food: 4/5
Price: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Overall: 4/5
Recommendations: Flatbread, Pork and Grits

We went to The Cove today with a bunch of people from the department, as part of our weekly Friday beer event.
Primarily, the big space availability and the proximity to UBC were the main reasons for choosing this place. It does have a pretty good location, and it's quite spacious; we easily found a table, even though it was Friday and the start of the term - the busiest time of all, the waitress opined.

Sadly enough, soon after this little conversation, the servers either forgot us, or completely ignored us - we had to wait for 40 mins almost, waiting for them to pass by so that we could ask for our bills, before we just gave up and walked up to the bar. Severely understaffed, I could understand, but we just didn't see the servers!

They had Parallel 49 Gypsy Tears on the specials today, which is on its way to becoming my favorite beer. In terms of food, it's mostly bar food - their burgers are pretty big and filling, and come with a salad or fries on the side.

Pro Tip #1: They have about 6-7 types of board games! Cove is pretty good for going with a large group.

Pro Tip #2: Their menu doesn't have poutine, but they would make them for you if you ask. And with pulled pork too. ;)

Great Place For Eggs Benedict!. It was my first time at the Cove, and I spotted the eggs benny on the menu so I figured I'd try it out.
I've had eggs benny from all around the world, and I'd have to say that The Woseley(in London, England) has the best eggs benedict money can buy.
I personally like an extra tangy hollandaise sauce, in my opinion that is the perfect hollandaise sauce, and The Woseley has it spot on.

The eggs benny at The Cove is similar to The Woseley's, and their hollandaise sauce is almost as good!
The english muffin and ham is also grilled to perfection, I'd go back here for the food even if it meant driving out of my way, so give it a try and let us know what you think.

The service is good as well, what you would expect from a good pub.

Go try it!

Good friendly service with lots of tv's if you want to catch the game. Food was very good with huge portions. Had a Jericho burger with fries and could barely finish. Good selection of local craft beers, I had a nakamara nut brown ale and it was great! This was our second stop of the night after leaving the wolf and the hound due to poor (lack of) service. The cove was much better! Will go back again.

Wow! Good wings+more. We've only tried their wings and can attest def one of the best wings in a pub in Vancouver and I have had tons of wings in my lifetime. Cozy atmosphere and great friendly service makes this a fond place for us to stop by in the neighbourhood. Plan to make this our regular stop for a pint and those honey garllic wings, sticky and sweet!

Best Pub in Vancouver. The Cove makes everyone feel like they're at home. For my crew and I being at the cove is like being at home with family.
Beyond the amazing service they have great beer on tap at reasonable prices and awesome pub food. Nothing beats a pint of Fat Tug IPA with a Bison Blue Cheese Burger (extra blue cheese).

Fast service, great sandwiches. We went here for a quick lunch a few weeks ago. Service was fast and friendly, and the soup and sandwiches were amazing. I had some sort of spicy chicken sandwich, and my friend had a beef sandwich special on olive bread. Both were excellent. I would definitely eat here again.

Awesome TVs, good burgers. I had never been into this pub before it renovated and became The Cove -- but wow! They're doin' something right. All I've really tried off the menu are the burgers (which you can easily make veggie-friendly), but they're good, the beer on tap is good, and the near 360' of HD TVs = ultimate. Yeah, so... come for the TVs, stay for the food.

Great place to watch the game. Great value for better-than-average pub food. Service mindful despite constant barrage on game night.
