Excellent place to have dinner. The vegetarian pizza was yum! Service was good. Staff is very friendly and pleasant. The view from the restaurant is breathtaking at night.
So it's overall a good place to spend an evening.
This place has redeemed themselves. I've been wanting to write this review for a while but haven't gotten around to it. Long story short, a while back I went with some co-workers for lunch...A server dropped a drink on the table and as a result the broken glass had cut my hand. We weren't pleased with the way the situation was handled and wrote to the management. The woman (sorry forgot her name) who got back to us was incredibly professional and handled the situation in such a positive way that we returned and have gone back since. Accidents happen, but it's how you handle them once done that is important. She completely stepped up and that is rare.
The patio is beautiful and on one evening they had live music which was enjoyable. They have great drink specials and nothing is better than sangria on the patio. The food is delicious and you can't beat the view. Clearly management cares at this place and it shows!
Pleasantly Surprised. So we had a bad experience with Mahony & Sons and walked a few doors up to try this place out. It doesn't look like much from the outside but it's pretty extravagant on the inside...squishy chairs, Italian prints everywhere but still simply done, it was quite nice inside.
We went in the wrong door but the bartender directed us down and a server immediately attended to us and had us seated by a window with a view into the kitchen as well. After about 5 minutes we realized she'd cleaned our table and forgotten to hand us our menus but that was fine because 2-3 minutes later she was back to get our orders and we joked about the menu thing (clean tables are more important anyway).
We ordered a couple of pops and a 16" fire cooked pizza that was half smoked salmon and prawn with capers and red onion (which turned out to be more of a caramelized onion not raw like most people do) and half olive/goat cheese/sundried tomato. The pizza took 20 minutes to cook, which was fine, and the toppings weren't overwhelming on the pizza, just a nice light dusting of ingredients. When it arrived somehow they'd forgotten the sundried tomatoes and the capers. We asked the waitress about it she apologized, went to the cook, and got us two little metal gravy boats loaded with salted capers in one and sundried tomatoes in the other. We must have gotten twice the amount normally put on the pizzas. Honestly it's better that way...we loaded up our slices with the appropriate topping that'd been missing and picked at the rest until they were all gone.
Honestly, I'm glad we ended up there instead of waiting out the servers at Mahony's. Good service, good food, and we left stuffed. The server assigned to us was not always as attentive as one would expect with it so quiet but the poor woman was always busy, sweeping up after a couple of really little kids who'd been tossing food - that takes patience to do with as pleasant a demeanor as she had. Kids are messy and this place, as classy a joint as it's trying to be, does a good job of taking care of what goes with having families in for lunch and dinner.
I would definitely eat there again!
