I have been here once before, brought a friend this time and Ebisu did not fail to impress, amazingly good experience! I definitely will be back!
Great food , great service. I might add my 4 year old picky eater devowerd the salmon tempura. She has always refused fish. I'm so happy she loved her 1st taste !
As part of my collaboration with the Robson Business Improvement Association, I am showcasing a few of my favourite restaurants on Robson Street. Ebisu is part of the Kamei Group of Japanese restaurants and is one of Vancouver’s original Japanese restaurants. While most people come to Ebisu for their fusion dishes and innovative cocktails, one of my favourite dishes here is their IceBlast Sashimi Platter. It is an enormous platter of sashimi featuring salmon, tuna, hamachi, spicy tuna, sweet prawns, hotate scallops, saba mackerel, tuna belly toro as well as fresh oysters.
More Japanese food. Instead of having sushi and sashimi, it's all cooked food. Went to the busy downtown for some food. . Chicken karage. . Fried chicken is always good. hard to choose weather Korean fried chicken or Japanese fried chicken is better. Salmon carpaccio. Brussels sprouts. Ebisu is at point O in Places Part 3 on the map below:
We made reservations but ended up coming in early but got seated promptly. We started with a chopped scallop roll where the scallops were plenty but rice was not as fresh that's where I have to deduct a point. The foie gras was great- melted in your mouth. The husband tried some uni- which I'm not a fan of. We also tried a tuna they had a On a special feature (3 pieces for $21) forgot the type but it was really good and was fresh! Would recommend and come here again.
Went here for Dine Out back in January. Very tasty experience, but portions were smaller than we expected. Ambience is interesting- kind of like a fancy restaurant collided with a sports bar!
Came across this pleasant surprise on Robson. Friday night, we did not make a reservation. Lucky to get a table for 5 right away at 6pm.
They were offering the dine-out menu, but we figured for similar price, we can probably get more variety.
We ordered a sashimi platter, some tempura, cheesy kyozas, a few sushi rolls and a mentaiko stirred fried udon. All were pretty delicious. Will definitely return again.
Had dinner with friends for Dine Out Vancouver Festival at this restaurant and our overall experienced was excellent. The food presentation is awesome and the foods were all delicious. The staff are friendly and attentive. The place is good, not bright and music volume is just right. Highly recommended to try.
The Iceblast comes with fresh Japanese scallops (5), sweet amaebi prawns (2), wild sockeye salmon sashimi (4), tuna belly toro sashimi (4), spicy tuna sashimi (5), and fresh oysters (6) with homemade cocktail sauce. Priced at $49.95, the platter is presented on dry ice. The theatrical part or “ice blast” is when the server adds water to the dry ice at tableside to produce smoke.
Situated at the heart of downtown, in between Robson and Bute, Ebisu on Robson offers a trendy fusion-Japanese joint for those looking for a place to eat-out and hang without having to wear a dress shirt to do so (although no one’s going to condemn you for doing it). Possessing a more night-life oriented vibe than the other locations in Vancouver, the food itself for the most part is just as vibrant and impressive.
○slow service
○good food
○lively/ social atmosphere
○paid parking in the back
○pricey but average for the area
○if I had to choose 1 dish: truffle fries
○would i go back? Yes
When we come to Vancouver, we always stop at Ebisu for happy hour. We ordered:
1) 99 cent oysters and they are royal miyagis
2) pitcher of beer $12
3) large pitcher of sangria $20
4) roasted Brussels spouts $5 - they give you butter on the side to pour over
5) various sushi rolls for only $4-$8
6) spicy tuna sashimi $6
7) chicken karaage $6
8) chili short ribs $6 - would not recommend ordering this. It's just ribs with hot sauce on top.
9) fois gras sushi $5 a piece - so good!
You aren't going to get the best sushi but for the price you pay, it is pretty good. And you definitely can't complain about the cost of the pitchers.
A really good Sushi place in the heart of Robson Street. While they have some top notch sushi this side of the pacific, they offer much more than that. The unagi bowl we had was fantastic - with high quality eel. Oysters were fresh and delicious, and I recommend their truffle fries if you want a more western style appetizer. For those on a budget - definitely look into getting a bento box as you get a bit of everything without a big price.
Good food! Oysters @ happy hour was super good value. And fresh and delicious. The rest of the items we ordered were good too. That includes chicken karaage, takoyaki, clam sakamushi, Otoro sushi, inari sushi, yellowtail kama, and wagyu don.
Pleasant service and enjoyable ambience.
Reasonably priced bento boxes during lunch. Nice staff and very friendly. I'd go back again and try their happy hour.
They got pretty good deal for happy hours 0.99 / oyster is to die for , it’s tasty and fresh , the limit is 12 pcs per person , unlike Richmond location only can order up to 6 pcs per person ( thumbs down 👎🏻) , they have pretty good sushi as well !
Good happy hour menu. But the portion is a little small
Generally nice place to have dinner
We couldn't decide where to eat and as we were crossing the road, I noticed Ebisu on the corner, located on the top of a building. Hands down the best meal we had all week in Vancouver - arrived in time for happy hour where we enjoyed great food at a discount. They made the best Alfredo I've ever truly had with fresh salmon and clams. Will definitely be visiting again!
