Great food! We had an awesome breakfast of pulled pork pancakes & a down south breakfast.
I've been there 2 days in a row and it the most amazing ! Tasting food I have had in a long time . Very fast service , the staff is very friendly and I'm possibly in love with the waitress Una ;)
An East Van staple. Open 24 hours and their food is comforting and cheap and delicious. The milkshakes are kind of the best. And the service is ALWAYS killer. Highly recommend. I tell all my friends who are headed to Mount Pleasant to hit this place up for a bite.
This place was featured on John Catucci's You Gotta Eat Here(Food Network) it's located on Main Street and 11th Avenue this little diner is a diamond in the rough a complete gem never call it a dive or a hole in a wall this place has some serious class. I ordered the Lucy's Triple Threat and a black coffee the food was insanely delicious the service was extremely friendly and attentive i would definitely recommend this place. This place is opened 24 hours and is crazy busy bring your appetite and a bit of patience
The latter is a casual, 24-hour joint located on Main Street, not far from Broadway that serves up a menu of casual diner breakfast, lunch, and dinner items. During my visit, I had their Pulled Pork Pancakes and Mac N Cheese with Bacon. Both of the dishes were tasty, and the prices were extremely affordable. Service was casual but friendly. All in all, after my visit, I can say that I left saying "I Love Lucy". I highly recommend checking this joint out if you are in the mood for some hearty comfort food at bargain prices.
P.S. They also have a pretty epic and tasty-looking eating challenge (Uncle Grant).
Pulled Pork Pancakes ($10):
4/5
This came with three pancakes, a small dollop of pulled pork, a side of hashbrowns, and an egg. The pancakes were a tad flat and chewy, but still tasty, and contained some pulled pork baked in the middle. The pulled pork was quite tender and flavourful, with a nice sweetness that I really enjoyed - I did find it to have a slightly pungent spice that I didn't particularly care for. I really enjoyed the hashbrowns, which were like small diced fries, and were very crispy on the outside while tender on the inside.
Mac N Cheese + Bacon ($9.25 + $3):
4/5
The noodles were well-coated in a rich, creamy sauce, as well as a good amount of cheese. I did find the noodles themselves to be a bit too soft. The dish on its own was also a bit on the bland side and could use more salt/seasoning. However, the addition of the bacon really helped add flavour to the dish.
Quite a laid back diner . I don't think they even care you are sitting around . Extremely filling for the price . The milkshake portions are huge ! You can get a junior one and it will suffice. They don't completely know what a salad is . But the burgers are good .
I remember hearing about Lucy’s East Side Diner on one of those infinitely repeated “Top 10 breakfast” lists from Vancity Buzz and was intrigued by it once I looked it up on Yelp, though never had the opportunity to try it! Was originally planning to hit up Jethro’s on this snowy day, but given how the lineup went out the door, we decided to try this instead!
Love love love Lucy's Diner. Its open 24/7 which is great for drunken late nights. Their breakfast is where its at. The decor inside is cute.. exactly what you would think when you imagine a quaint diner. They have boozy milkshakes which is always a plus!
First of, 24/7. That's a big plus in my books.
Secondly, all day breakfast.
It's small and cramped, normally fairly busy, but that's just part of smaller vancouver restaurants.
I love the breakfasts. Classic dinner food.
This page is best after a show late at night or very early in the morning.
Good food, diner itself was very cramped and slightly dirty. Although still a total retro diner, the milkshakes were old-fashioned and thick. Despite the environment itself, i would totally recommend.
These were the best pulled pork pancakes I have had and for the amount of food you get I thought it was good value. The pancakes were light and fluffy and not too doughy or undercooked. The pulled pork had the perfect balance of sweet and smokiness and wasn’t too overwhelming for eating early in the day.
This 24 hour eastside diner gives me the nostagia feeling of taken back into a 60’s theme diner with hightops, milkshakes and burgers. As most places close early on a Sunday, grabbing a late night bite might be hard but luckily there is places like these that open 24 hours! . Had to get the milkshake, hoagie and the fried chickenStrawberry milkshake $5.25
The milkshakes were sooooo luxurious and freshly made. You also get to mix two flavors!!
The meatloaf was fantastic and the servers were so nice :)
Fries are freshly made too! Super crispy and fluffy.
First impressions beautiful place good music all chairs a real dinner got sit rate away water on the table menu Coffee is good food was tasty
I felt it was a little expensive but that how things are now a days I’ll keep it on my list of breakfast choices I will return. I did add things to my breakfast that why it was a little more money than I use to Nice details
Came in famished. Left satiated. I’ll come every time I’m hungry in downtown. Had the Marshall burger…2 patties, cheese, egg, bacon, chilli, mushrooms and the usual fresh accoutrements. Beef was tasty and well seasoned. Fries were typical variety but crispy. Prompt and unobtrusive service. Music at good volume.
Usually a decent little spot for greasy eats, a true dive diner. The occasional bug crawling across the wall adds to the allure. All in all, you get what you pay for, nothing more, nothing less. Hits the spot when you desire carbs.
Proper Diner with great food and service.
Down a star for the washrooms.
Wheelchair users can get in but very tight within and can only sit at front. Worth the effort for the food!
