By far the best music, best food, best drinks, best atmosphere and the bestest staff. We visit every time we are in Vancouver.
The Moose is my favourite place to hang out, eat, and listen to great music; if classic Rock is your thing. The food is also great for the price. The dill pickle wings are the best and I really like the Cajun blackened chicken.
I have heard my other friends say great things about Moose’s Down Under, and it was time to see for myself how it was like! Of course, when an Australian tells you this place is legit, you know you gotta check it out.

Visited in June , The place had a great atmosphere - busy and loud and got busier and louder as the night progressed. Service was prompt and friendly, The menu offers great value for money and the cheapness doesn't effect the quality - we've paid more and enjoyed it less at other places. My husband commented that the burger was one of the best he'd had, and the turkey club was also tasty. We had a couple of drinks and the overall bill was still very reasonable. If you're looking for a quiet drink - then this isn't the place to go, but it provides a lively atmosphere and value for money for a quick bite to eat.
My partner and I were looking for a quick snack in between meals. After spending a little more than we anticipated for breakfast, we thought we would slim down our purse strings for lunch. Our dining pre-requisite brought us to “The Moose’s Garage”. A dive bar bringing Vancouverites an all $5.95 food menu, since 2001. And being located just off the Granville Strip, their location gives them the late night, after drinking crowd as traffic. The hungry masses looking for cheaper eats, having spent majority of the their pocket change on shots and highballs. However, the catch is, drinks are full price. And you find yourself getting at least one can. One drink balance out the richness of the greasy appies and entrees that you can now afford in the multiples.
First you must understand the nature of this place. It is a cheap eats and pricey drinks joint. Don't go here for dinner. Go for a snack and a drink then move on. Try the ribs. They are hands down the best in town. Memphis Blue could use some lessons from the moose on ribs. Ribs and a beer and you will be in a good place. If you are still peckish try the moose balls, not too many, share the order with at least one other person. Then leave. Also try not to worry about the service or the decor, that's not why you are there.
First day in the city, (from Ontario) and was a cool find for a quick bite to eat. Service was polite and quick, food was decent for the price. Beer, always nice and cold.
I have been here in the past and I came here again last night for a couple beers and some food. I got the grilled salmon entree. It was pretty good! Good service too. Once again, this is one of the $4.95 restaurants. Same quality as the rest and you can expect to be satisfied with it.
Love the food and you can't beat the price! The pulled pork is my go-to (minus the coleslaw). I get them to use their honey bbq sauce on it which is amaaaazing.
Great chicken wings! I would eat here again. It was my Tuesday nights hangout while I was living in Vancouver. The waitress is very cute and friendly.
This is one of my favourite places in Vancouver. What isn't there to like? Good quality food at ridiculously cheap prices! Go already and throw some change in the jukebox while you're at it!
Cheap food, great pub, good music. Small pub but not to busy.
Oh wow!! Just wow. What a wonderful bar! As a tourist in Vancouver, I'm so happy that the moose is the fist bar I went into. Amazing beer. Great service.
I've been to The Moose several times over the many years it's been around, and always enjoy stopping in.
This time we made a pit stop on our way back to the hotel, and I'm glad we did. We all experienced our first PB&J - Pabst Blue ribbon and a shot of Jameson (I had to ask what it was first).
We went back two nights later and had some 'I had too much to drink' poutine that probably saved the next morning.
Amazing atmosphere, cheap food and an amazing drink list. A must see for any rock fan or foodie !!
A vibe that cannot be replicated !
Absolutely loved the vibe of this place!! The dive bar look and feel is incredible, and so were the drinks. Didn't have time to get any food, but on my next trip over I'll definitely be getting some food.
Hard to find places that play decent music nowadays but this place hit the nail on the head.
One of the most iconic rock joints in the city. This place is absolutely outstanding. If you get a chance to meet the bartenders, Ben or Gill your life will be changed for the better. Highly recommend this legendary space to anyone looking for a good time
Fantastic pub with great pricing. Rock n roll music blasting with good cocktails and beer. Has a little dive edge and a welcoming atmosphere.
Loved this pub! Great atmosphere, cheap and tasty food, good music, friendly staff. What more can you ask for
Went here for some late night food, didn't know that it was some kind of punk rock bar. Great atmosphere and vibe.
