The Belgard Kitchen is a unique restaurant located at 55 Dunlevy Avenue in Vancouver, British Columbia. I don't think they have a parking lot but you can park along the street. Don't let the shady neighbourhood fool you, this place is very nice inside and definitely has a hipster vibe to it.
This amazing wood-walled, old-school warehouse style restaurant specializes in small plates, creative local dishes, pizzas, beers and wines. I can pretty much guarantee they'll have something on the menu that you'll enjoy. The Belgard has three separate food menus, brunch, lunch and an evening menu. All of the menus are loaded with deliciousness. On this particular occasion I was driving so I didn't partake in their vast beer and wine selection but if you plan on indulging go onto their website and check out the lists. I did however order a non-alcoholic craft brewed Phillips Ginger Ale. I always love myself a carbonated ginger beverage, as you can probably tell from all my other reviews. For foods I started with the Tomato Soup Fondue that came with mini swiss and gruyere grilled cheeses that were perfect for dipping into the soup, super simple yet super delicious. Up next I ordered two of their Pizzettes, first up was the Heirloom Caprese with herbed cashew mozzarella, sunflower seed pesto and a white balsamic drizzle, it was surprisingly really, really tasty, it exceeded my expectations for sure. For round two on the Pizzettes I decided to try their Spicy Salsiccia with San Marzano tomatoes, gypsy salami, Postmark IPA chorizo, provolone and watercress, I friggin loved it, The Belgard is definitely underrated when it comes to their pizzas in my opinion. Lastly I saw the Wagyu Meatballs on the menu and I just couldn't resist, 100% Brant Lake Wagyu, arrabiata sauce, burrata cheese and a grilled baguette, these meatballs were legendary, when I come back I'm definitely getting them again, so saucy, so meaty and so cheesy, SO MUCH YUM! On the menu they had two very tasty sounding desserts so I told the waitress to bring them both over, there was no way I was going to be able to pick just one of them. The Chocolate Lava Cake with house raspberry ice cream was decadent and it looked absolutely gorgeous. Last but definitely not least the Oatmeal Raisin Cookie with rum toffee sauce, toasted walnut and cinnamon raisin ice cream was delivered to the table and if I'm being 100% honest I thought it was going to be kind of bland and boring but holy moly was I wrong, it was LOADED with sweet, soft, gooey goodness. Out of all the desserts I've tried at 40+ restaurants the Oatmeal Raisin Cookie was the best, don't ask me why, it just was.
So in conclusion The Belgard Kitchen is a FANTASTIC restaurant with a great selection of beer and wines and AMAZING food.
I highly recommend giving this place a try and I will definitely be back!

Belgard Kitchen has excellent food which is meant to be shared, they have a lot of tapas and small plates on their menu. We came here for dinner, it was quite busy but were seated almost right away. We ordered the tomato soup and grilled cheese, the beet salad, and risotto. The soup and grilled cheese were delicious, a classic comfort food. Beet salad was very fresh, tasty, and plated beautifully. The risotto was also solid, but we enjoyed the first two dishes more. Prices are fair and service is good. We would recommend and come back.
Had a wonderful dinner at the belgard kitchen. Nice selection of drinks. Although menu selection is not as wide, but everything from plating, flavor and portions are good. Ordered 5 dishes to
share between 2 people and we have plenty left overs. Will definitely come back again at a later
time (the place definitely will look a lot nicer when it’s dimmed).

I've been waiting for my opportunity to go to Belgard Kitchen for a long time, and when it finally came I was so blown away. Situated in Railtown, just a couple blocks Northeast of Gastown, past the sketchy parts, and into a gem of a neighbourhood, Belgard Kitchen is in one of the most unique, yet unassuming buildings youve ever seen. Not much signage, you kind of have to know where it is before you drive by, but wow is this an awesome space inside. An old Steel Foundry, the interior is flowing with history and industrial artefacts like pulleys, wheels, barrels, giant metal things you have no idea about create an awesome atmosphere, not to mention the giant windows, giant doors, and wall of barrels. Brunch was phenomenal, the Ale Skillet was so amazing. Presentation, taste, everything was awesome. The service was also great, our server was so warm and friendly, constantly laughing, and also very observant and helpful. Amazing brunch experience, topped off by a visit to Postmark Brewing located within the same room! The tasting bar is great, and walked away with 3 bombers that I enjoyed immensely. Belgard Kitchen has made it's way onto my Go-To-Brunch list, and I am eagerly awaiting my next journey out there.
Great atmosphere, good service and good food. We had dinner there on a week night and the place is packed. We made reservation ahead of time so no waiting time for us at all. We will go back.

A hidden gem in downtown east / on the edge of Gastown... You turn a corner onto Dunleavy Avenue and are startled by another converted warehouse/ old building with (as my husband put it ) sensational windows ( he's an architect :p) ...we walked in to find an open well planned space with high ceilings ... Rustic furniture that's secretly trendy...cosy yet spacious
The Belgard kitchen came with high praise , intriguing pictures and did not disappoint!
The staff was friendly and watchful but not hovering to the point of annoyance (which I like )
It was a much awaited brunch and we walked away stuffed.

My friend had Postmark Stout Sausage Skillet$16
crispy potatoes, roasted mushrooms + tomato, poached eggs, smokey onion + parmesan cream, grilled sourdough
standard skillet with halved sausage, smashed potatoes , n the rest as described..it was well seasoned and very hearty, though she would've liked nicer bread than what came along and probably would've been happier if the dish was Atleast 2$ cheaper
I had the Salmon Gravlax Hash$16
house cured sockeye, crispy potatoes, avocado, pickled onions, arugula, beet + Postmark IPA puree, poached eggs, smokey onion + parmesan cream
This was special :) loved the salad greens , the eggs were perfectly poached and made for perfect gooey goodness to mix everything into one delicious bite !
*Special mention for the beet puree... Yummm

maple bourbon pork belly, maple caramel
One bite , specially given my state of hunger when I'd got there and I could feel my troubled soul get lighter ! Soft juicy pork belly with crunchy caramelized edges drenched in fatty maple magic...sigh

Oh my goodness we were happy with this! Fluffy brioche heaven smothered in the compote ,with the cream dotted around just the right spots...all sitting on the Bourbon anglaise that was just waiting for you to drag your fork full of sin through it...

My friend started off with an iced latte which she wished was stronger ( can't recall the price)
We also had a beer flight / tasting paddle which was around 8$ I think?
We sampled the pineapple ale , raspberry ale , the ISA ( I think) and the Saison
They were ok to be honest.. I only liked one of them... I think it was the Saison
I switched to their bubbly mimosas and stuck with it.. they're priced at 10$ again a fraction higher than expected... But it was well balanced, the oj was not to tart and pulpy, almost fresh squeezed and the bubbly just right.. enough to let you know it's there but not to make you snooze on the table..and a few pretty berries floating on top were a nice touch .
All in all a satisfying first time. I will be back for the Belgard bacon and the mimosas, not so much the beer :)

My first time here, I had to wait 15 mins for a hostess to acknowledge me, and they knew I was waiting. The worst part wad that they were only half full. Maybe someone in the kitchen called in sick? When my girlfriend and I got seated, they ran out of the salmon hash. I understand restaurants will have a limited supply of food, but I hate seeing my girlfriend being disappointed. So we kindly left and decided to come back next week.
We came back next week, 10:30am. Waited ten minutes again for a hostess and the restaurant was less then half full. Minus points for that, this is real bad when the whole staff just keeps looking at you and they don't even acknowledge you.
We finally got our table and ordered everything quickly. The salmon has came. We were surprised there was no dressing on the arugula... The plating in general is absolutely beautiful but it lacked a touch of wow for flavor... My flatbread railway sandwich and side of potatoes were plated very nicely, but again, I felt like I can easily make this at home...
Finally the chia seed pudding. Now this was really comforting and a great way to end our feast then soak the sun rays at the beach.
In the end I wasn't disappointed. It was a decent breakfast. My expectations were high because of all the good reviews. However, I was blown away by the space and decor they have inside their brewery. It's gorgeous.
I immediately fell in love with Belgard Kitchen's interiors. It's the perfect place to hang out with friends or bring visitors from out of town. Food was not exceptionally good but was really interesting. And then there's the wine flight that complemented the food. This is one place i will be giddy to visit again.
You know brunch is going to be amazing when you want one of every single item on the menu. Belgard Kitchen is open for all meals of the day but I went here for the first (my favorite) meal of the day. Brunch is served on the weekend only from 10am-3pm. Belgard shares its space with Postmark Brewing Company and Vancouver Urban Winery. The space is beautiful with super high ceilings and lots of barrels. Brunching here was the perfect way to start my day. I am looking forward to dining here for dinner and lunch. Telling by their brunch, everything they do here will not disappoint.
Meal: Featured wine, roasted cauliflower, sable fish, avocado humus, and C.C. Jentsh Cab/Merlot. . Atmosphere: Beautiful building, immediately impressed by the door and then equally impressed by the second door. Day light still peaking in at 6 was visible by the large windows facing the east side. Loved the decor, atmosphere, open kitchen, bar, everything!
Delicious food. Well priced for the quality of the dishes. Left wishing we could order more but definitely comfortably full after three dishes. Our favourite was the sweet potato gnocchi with the lamb Ragu.
What a amazing experience! We enjoyed the amazing wine flights and the price so worth! Our servers very friendly and nice! The wine so delicious with the greatest charcuterie board ! And the pizza also super delicious! I would recommend this place to all my friends. Will definitely come back soon!
Came here on a rainy day for a late lunch. The interior is quite fascinating with the lighting, barrels and overall decor. The food came promptly and our server was friendly! Food was absolutely delicious and perfect portions for 2 ppl.
10/10 would come back and check out their other menus!
If your looking for a restaurant that’s in the city yet tucked away.. this is the place! It’s wood-rustic vibes welcomes you with their very tall entrance doors. Tapas and food influenced by west coast lifestyle you can expect all the dishes are made fresh, local and with love + passion. I highly recommend the meatballs + cauliflower to share. Don’t expect a large selection of cocktails because they specialize in craft beer and cider with BC VQA wines! This place is great for any occasion as the ambiance is quite relaxing. Think of being in a .. high end dim light barn with delicious food and drinks. Highly recommend.
We had a lovely time, the employees were very welcoming and accommodating for a small gathering we had. Yeah food was tasty, serving sizes are light which is exactly what we were looking for. We did not partake in a lot of the spirits but could see a healthy listing and we did enjoy the wine tasting flight. I would enjoy visiting again for a casual gathering, especially when enjoying their Belgard Bacon!
Very cool place! It's our second time here, always love the wide selection of wine AND beer here. Their food is delicious too. Bonus points for having happy hour from 3-6pm on weekdays and Monday all day, I'll for sure come back!
First time going and the food was absolutely delicious. Our table had a little bit of everything. Wine flights, beer flights, a range of meals and both desserts. Everyone left full and so so happy. Our server Ben was awesome!
Very nice ambience. A plus for parking available in the area. Service is decent and food taste great! My dish was the Belgard Burger. It's savoury but yet refreshing, making it perfect for brunch. I sometimes find burgers and some food too greasy for brunch so that's a banger. The potato though seems a bit stale. Would have been a perfect dish if the potato was fresh. The beer options were decent as well. Recommend this place.
Had ramen and flatbread, oh boy it was delicious!
Ramen is arguably and surprisingly one of the best in town. Noodle itself is average but the rich soup is just top notch! Flatbread is excellent too, my wife who doesn’t like pizza/flatbread still enjoyed it very much.
Interior is very comfy, modern, high ceiling, and nice. Service is pretty good! Price is quite affordable. The location itself could be a bit scary as you drive thru Gastown/Chinatown, but on this particular block, it is not that bad. Also encountered some homeless people who asked for changes when I was parking on the street, but they were nice and polite.
