Was here for dine-out; ordered the Hakka Stuffed Tofu, Venison Cheeks, and Nama Chocolate. Hakka Tofu was delicious, although the sauce was slightly on the salty side; I imagine it would have been an even better dish with rice to compliment the salty flavours. Venison cheeks was absolutely amazing...the meat is so wonderfully cooked and tender. The bok choy was great too; however mine were a bit too cooked--there were small flakes of burnt black stuff, but not so much to ruin the taste. My friend ordered the same thing and his bok choy was spot on. The Nama Chocolate was delightfully smooth, and the puffed rice really made a big different to the taste and texture. Overall, a really fantastic experience, and completely worth the $40 dine-out price. If you're on the fence about choosing a dine-out place, give Sai Woo a try.
Also shout-out to Jake for his outstanding service!
Great atmosphere and fun, creative cocktails. Asian fusion rooted in classic Chinese dishes. Chop suey noodles and steamed buns were divine. Service was a slow, but worth the wait.
My family and I truly enjoyed our dinner at Sai Woo tonight. Everything tasted great and the server was very friendly. Their twist on the Yang Chow fried rice was very good, very delicious. It's unpretentious modern Chinese food! I love the exposed brick wall with the original murals on it. Great addition to Vancouver's Chinatown!
