Yummy food, the prawn and lobster risotto was perfectly prepared, and the flank steak appy was on point. Overall, the food preparation is always well executed.
Service staff are knowledgeable. My waiter was very attentive and did a great job. But slightly rush at the end of my experience.
Will still go back how ever.
So glad we found this place. Inside and outside dinning. Great atmosphere with good music in the background. Our waiter was amazing. He spent plenty of time with our group explaining the menu and the area.
He took orders of our group of 5 by memory. We ordered for 5 and got Togo orders for two more and all of us loved our meal
The flying pig has an easy going vibe that’s great for most occasions - date night, birthdays, catchup with friends, etc.
I went there for brunch and their smoked salmon egg benny was delicious - thought the focaccia bread was a nice touch instead of the standard english muffin. It also comes with a side of crispy potatoes, which had that satisfying crunch and a basic salad. It’s a good portion for the price ($18.50), so I’d recommend this dish. We also got the red wine braised beef short rib (dinner menu), a side of crispy Brussels sprouts along with the lobster & prawn risotto. The braised short rib comes with bone marrow and mash potatoes with cheese on top. It’s quite a rich and heavy dish. You definitely need to love meat and I’ll say the crispy cheese on the mash potatoes was a nice touch. I felt it was okay, but wouldn’t pay $34.50. I feel most people like crispy Brussels sprouts and this side dish was no exception - balance of saltiness from capers offset by the lemon creates a great combo and you feel a bit healthy because it’s veggies. My only thing about this dish was that it’s a bit oily, but again, what do you expect. It’s definitely a good side if you’re having meat heavy dishes. Lastly, the Lobster & Prawn Risotto. I liked how they had chunks of seafood in it, but I felt like it could’ve had more flavour to it. Risotto isn’t my favourite dish either, but my friend was a big fan.
Overall, this place is great for brunch and happy hour. Food was overall good and no real complaints. I don’t know if I’d come here for a special occasion, but it’s definitely a good casual place to chat, with a cozy vibe and comforting food.
So good, Every bite brings a tear to my eye, the service is perfect. It might be called the flying pig but it should be called rainbow, because it passed my review with flying colours. Every thing is cooked to perfection. Although portions look small, they are more than enough to fill anyone up. Meat balls are good yummy, bread is perfect. Call me a pig because I’ll be flying to heaven after this meal. Thank you, thank you, I will sleep with glee. Might aswell call this place Freddy krueger because it’ll be in my dreams. So good I wish i could eat here everyday, no matter what you order it will be good. Call this place Insomnia because I cant sleep without it.
Special thanks to Dylan he was an amazing server and was super nice throughout my meal. Thank you Dylan:).
Had dinner there this evening. The service, the food and the atmosphere is very good. I had a cocktail called the Whistling Pig that I find very refreshing. Similar to an Old Fashioned but better. Then I had the Salt and Pepper Humboldt Squid. Normally, I'm a grilled calamari fan but the Humboldt Squid is the best fried calamari I ever had. I normally stay away from fried calamari but this Humboldt Squid's breading melts very good in my mouth when I bite into it. The best fried calamari. Then I had the West Coast Seafood Paella. Delicious!!! I love the spicy kick in the flavor. I had the meal with merlot wine. I was greeted with a friendly smile at the reception which makes me feel very welcoming. The server was very friendly and very courteous. I would like to visit this restaurant in my next visit to Vancouver. I would recommend anyone to visit this restaurant and enjoy.
One of the best bar in Yaletown!
This bar is so convince to find a table even on the weekends. So warm and friendly crew there.
I’ve been multiple times with different friends; always we left there so happy!
I highly recommend to try the platter of different cheeses, porschiutto, olives and bread.
You would love it with your drink.
Very cozy space! We came for happy hour before cirque. Three from our table ordered the special platters which came with steak, veggies, Risotto, ahi tuna, and caesar salad and it was delicious! As you can see I didn’t even get a chance to take a picture cause we dug in so quickly! I would highly recommend the steak and the ahi tuna as both were delish! The risotto was so good as well. For our appetizers, we got the happy hour wings as well as the onion rings, and they were both great. I also had their chardonnay and it was perfectly dry. Great service!
The bartender was really friendly even though they were fairly busy. The food and drinks came out quick. We ordered the Bison Carpaccio, Salmon Cakes, and Mussels with Frites. The drinks were nice too! Reasonable Happy Hour prices too.
Busy place - strongly suggest a reservation. Great Happy Hour menu, good service. Fish was nicely prepared, and paella had lots of seafood in a very small portion.
Host was friendly on the Monday.
Waitress was quick but didn't seem happy to be working that evening.
Food was good and beers were decently priced for happy hour. I really like the atmosphere.
Had the bison carpaccio to share. Was good but please add another slice of bread for God's sake lol.
I had the veal picatta which was good and my girlfriend had the seafood paella. Good choices.
