My Sushi has always been a staple of mine when it comes to AYCE sushi in the Willowdale area. Freshly renovated, sporting a new look and bubble tea/ dessert counter pleasantly welcomes the guest in with the relaxing decor.
Ordering is done by sheets, and the menu is extensive but not overbearing. Most of what you would like to have at an AYCE restaurant is on the menu, which is always a great thing. My orders tend to heavily have an emphasis on the grilled and fried items, mostly consisting of Kalbi, Karaage and Shrimp Tempura. All of which are both cook and taste great.
Servers are very attentive, bringing order sheets, water and tea refills quickly and consistently. The owner also comes around and converses with us, due to myself and my friends being regulars here. Always a nice thing to have during an experience.
By far my favourite AYCE place in the area, and I don’t think that will change anytime soon.
$10.99 lunch special includes Soup , Salad , 4 sushi bites , a pyramid of sticky rice , very respectable serving of the main course (General Tao , or Teriyaki Chicken in my case) and a little mango desert ... color me happy !!
One of the few AYCE sushi spots in the Yonge Finch area. My Sushi is a bit hidden away in a plaza located indentured beneath trees across from Buk Chang Soon Dofu. The place itself is real small, as well as for the menu (for lunch at least). We came for a weekend lunch, which will run you $14.99. Pretty good price with good food and good service.
The sushi here is pretty solid and I don't really understand all the tough reviews. I found them to give a pretty nice fish-rice ratio here for the sushi. The rolls were a bit different as they did use quite a bit of rice for the few rolls that we did order. The Rainbow Rolls and the Spicy Crab Rolls were not as good as hoped, but the sushi was. The salmon and red tuna sushi were great.
The hot foods were OK. There were not a lot of choices for the hot food or appetizers. They had miso soup but seaweed salad and short ribs (AYCE sushi favorites of mine) are only available for dinner so I was a bit disappointed. The fried rice and noodles were good though. They also have some decent items like steak teriyaki and BBQ eel.
I will say that the lunch menu is a bit smaller than most places, but their dinner menu is right up to par with the rest. The prices are a tad cheaper than most places which is nice considering it's not as dirty looking as most other places. I would make my way back especially if you're in the area as there aren't many AYCE sushi choices around anyways.
