This is my favourite Thai Express location. I love the nice decor and "patio" seating arrangement inside the Bayview Village mall. I find this location uses less of the MSG, cornstarch sauce. Other locations just serve up a slop of noodles drowning in sauce (that's not the way it should be). Also, this place fries up the fish, fresh to order. So I always get the fish when I'm at this location. It hasn't been overcooked once. For fast food, cheap, and unauthentic thai food, this location of Thai express is my go-to. I also love that you can help yourself to lime wedges and peanuts, because I love overloading on those. I like their pad thai and my partner likes their yellow curry. The yellow curry is definitely tasty, but a bit too MSG-laden and salty for my taste.
Sometimes you don't have the luxury of time, and something fast will have to do. Thai Express is a chain that I like on such an occasion. Cooked to order quickly, with fresh ingredients. More often than not I will pick their Pad Thai with Chicken. Add your own peanuts and hot sauce to adjust the flavours to your taste.
Maybe the service may not be upto par (for a fast food takeout!) but I have to comment on the taste of the food. I've been to many Thai places and have to say that for the value and taste, the food is excellent! Fresh, fast, and never a surprise! The same franchise at Hilldrest mall is another story. The dishes don't taste the same and was a totally different experience. I've to bayview many times and always been very happy with the food!!
