Super fun patio, great view, awesome vibe and loved the signature drink “The Bulldog”. You might pay a bit more for the experience but hey, you’re DT Toronto with a spectacular view and great service- I had at least 5 different friendly staff looking after us-. Try the bacon cheese burger, unreal! Worth every penny

A root top in the middle of entertainment district, is a good place to have some drinks. Pros: good view, cons : if you smoke, you will have a lot of stair's to go outside.

Great place for a hot summer day, and night. The porch is a patio that serves food & alcoholic beverages. What got my attention is that they serve drinks in sand castle buckets, specifically strawberry margaritas. For the amount of drink, 15$ is reasonable. I will definitely come again!!

A friend and I went there for a drink. I found the drinks to be pricey ($9) but the view of the city was great! We didn't try any of the food since we had just eaten dinner elsewhere but the staff was really nice to us.

I went to an private event at Porch, which is is a rooftop patio with a fantastic view of the CN Tower! It was the perfect venue to launch patio season! Although it rained, it didn't dampen our experience. The friendly and unpretentious Porch staff served us a never ending assortment of bites from various salads to bar favourites such as wings, fish tacos, meatballs, wraps, coleslaw fries and deep fried mac 'n cheese squares... the list goes on! The staff brought food to us with a smile and also cleared our plates in a timely fashion. Great service!

The Tromba Tequila bartender dispensed us delicious margaritas consisting of lime juice, a lavender bitter, and smashed rosemary. Along with the Sol beer reps, were never thirsty!

I loved the 90s throwbacks that they were playing!

What a great event!

This is the spot for summer.  A giant rooftop patio rocks random beats that completely move the absorbed crowd. The excitement is contagious. Get there early on the weekends because lineups can run around the block. Canadian made by two brothers from Vancouver, whose belief in attention to detail makes their patio so unique – and it is so true!

With an unobstructed view of the CN tower from the rooftop of the Rock ‘n Horse Saloon , The Porch is sure to be one of the hottest patios in the city this summer.

Located in the heart of the entertainment district, you’ll find the Porch at the very top of this new country destination. The Porch is open Monday to Saturday from 11am to 2am and on Sundays they host an event called Picnic on the Porch which features live music and a DJ from 11am to 5pm.

Mike and I dropped by after work last Wednesday and it was apparent that most people have already discovered this newly opened rooftop patio. Get here early to grab a good seat.

In addition to the usual suspects, the beverage menu includes giant margaritas (also available in pitchers), Porch Punch (aka sangria) and Jack & coke slushies. The food menu is broken into several sections: shared fare (including nachos and baked brie), fresh fare (salads), pizzas and “from the grill” (including an Angus chuck burger, wings and short ribs).

We started off with a Bulldog – a margarita with an upside down Corona. It’s the perfect drink for a hot day and I loved its fun presentation in a sandcastle pail.

Food-wise, we shared a Caesar Salad – hearts of romaine, the usual suspects ($12). The salad was sprinkled with house-made lardons which really gave the salad a nice somethin’ somethin’. The caesar dressing with the light drizzles of balsamic was delicious. I also loved that every piece of romaine lettuce was lightly coated in dressing so every bite had just the right amount.

Up next was the Pulled Chicken Pizza – gorgonzola, arugula ($15). I’ll be honest, I’m not a huge fan of blue cheese but was pleasantly surprised to find that the gorgonzola wasn’t too overpowering. As for the chicken found on the pizza, it’s smoked in-house on their smoker. I love that they make so much of their food in-house – it’s definitely not your typical bar food.

We finished off our meal with the Jalapeno Cheddar Sausage – spiced catsup, dill mustard, baguette ($15). I expected a simple sausage on a bun but they like to kick things up a notch at this bar. It was essentially a deconstructed sausage on a bun. The locally made sausage was delicious – packed full of cheese and heat! The dish also consisted of some house-made spicy ketchup and dill mustard which complemented the sausage nicely.

With an incredible space and food that’ll put other bar food to shame, the Porch will no doubt be one of this summer’s hottest destinations.

*This was a complimentary meal. The opinions in the post, as always, are my own.*

On top of Adelaide Hall and Rock n’ Horse Saloon is a relatively new rooftop patio called The Porch. The place has a lovely unobstructed view of the CN Tower. I was there for a friend’s birthday and ordered a margarita which came in a bucket the size of my head. Considering it was around $10, it was a great value.

The menu features finger foods as well as pub food like burgers and ribs. I ordered the guacamole with corn chips to start ($14).

I also had the Korean Short Ribs ($15) which were served with market greens in a balsamic vinaigrette.

While I think it is a great place for drinks, I think the food is overpriced for what you get as they weren’t anything special. Also worth noting is that if you make a reservation, it doesn’t guarantee a table or your party’s spot in line. The few times I’ve been there, there was no cover, but I could also see this changing if it hasn’t already.

It’s Tuesday afternoon at 5:30 pm, and there’s already a line up outside of the Rocking Horse Saloon to get into The Porch.

After I get in and see the gorgeous view, I’m not surprised!

I start the afternoon off with a delicious Mango Giant Margarita. True to the name, it came in a giant bucket! It was garnished with fresh fruit and was oh so delicious. It also comes in lime, strawberry and raspberry. Other drinks include Porch Sangria, Country Mimosas, Jack & Coke Slushies and more. The Porch serves a snack menu including pulled pork spring rolls, chicken club sliders and smoked cheddar grilled cheese. Here’s what I had!We had a platter of breads and spreads that included: Artichoke Asiago Dip, Bruschetta, Grilled Naan, Homemade Nacho Chips and some of the best guacamole I’ve had to date.

“The secret is to when you’re juicing the limes for the guac is to use lots of the lime zest as well, the flavour goes really well.,” confides the Porch’s personable chef.

The bruschetta is simple and is made daily using his grandmother’s (delicious, delicious) recipe. Aww. They also make the nacho chips daily and they are perfectly salted. The flat bread was grilled in the oven and topped with pulled chicken, Gorgonzola cheese, cherry tomatoes and arugula. The blue cheese gives the flat bread/pizza a creamy kick. The last dish was the Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage with Spiced Catsup, Dill Mustard, and Grilled Naan. We also had a side salad with watermelon citrus vinaigrette. The spicy mustard was made in house with dill.

The catsup was so good, I wish I could have taken home a bottle. The Porch roasts their veggies that they grow themselves (soon they’ll plant a herb garden). Red peppers and tomatoes are roasted until blistered for the catsup.

The sausage is made with meat from a local farm within the GTA and it’s made with jalapeño and cheddar cheese. It’s spicy with an amazing smoky flavour.

I love the food and the emphasis of local, fresh and made in house items. The food alone is worth coming back here…but lets not forget the amazing patio! There are lots of cozy nooks for sitting and enjoying the view. It’s obviously a popular hang out for the after work crowd, but I imagine that weekend brunch is also a hot ticket!

If there is something in Toronto we’re always looking for, it’s a good patio. Hidden away in the massive Rock N’ Horse Saloon building is a gorgeous rooftop patio which they have aptly titled, The Porch.

Located in the heart of downtown’s entertainment district - The Porch is like Rock N’ Horse Saloon’s rock n’ roll little sister. With it’s impressive view, whimsical drinks, BBQ menu and bands on Sunday afternoons – The Porch offers up a place to eat, drink and be merry.

Upon arrival, you’ll have a trek up a few flight of stairs and once you’ve arrived to the doors of The Porch – you’ll be greeted to a gorgeous layout of comfortable couches. No matter where you sit, there is a view.

First things first, we’re advised by our server to begin with a drink and we notice everyone else has these hilarious looking sand-pails to which she advises are their classic Margaritas. Made with fresh squeezed lime and 100% Agave tequila, they come in a variety of different flavours. We taste-test the Raspberry and Mango and have no regrets.

Next up, we settle into their new menu which they’ve just recently launched. As we review everything we notice that the menu caters to all dietary needs and also offers a little bit of something for everyone. We started off with the Breads N’ Spreads which came with artichoke asiago Dip, bruschetta, hummus with naan.

Next up, we tried the Caesar Salad which was served knife and fork styles. I am going to have to admit – the was not one of my favourite items as there were a lot of competing flavours here. Balsamic drizzle over top of the salad with some other toppings I wasn’t quite able to place. It was a bit confusing for my palette and considering you have to chop the salad yourself, I kind of gave up.

We ordered the Grilled Chicken flatbread pizza with bruschetta which was probably one of my favourite items of the day. Full of flavour but light. Perfect for rooftop eats and hangs.Paired alongside the Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage with spiced ketchup and dill mustard – it was a big hit as well.

Every Sunday, The Porch also has a brunch menu which they have titled “Sunday Picnic” and as mentioned a live band. There is no cover to enter (on weekend afternoons) and if you’re looking for a fun place for grub and drinks -this place is definitely a rock’n place to be.
