Great- wings and cheese pennies
I would highly recommend this place. Great food. Amazing price point and service. They also have happy hour drink specials. The pennies were very tasty as a app to share with friends. The wings were homemade and flavourful. The chips/fries were good as well. I was very impressed by this place. Great find in Rosedale!
Lunch time pint and, er, well lunch. About once a month or two, on a payday, we visit this fine establishment. The brews tend to be smaller Ontario concerns. I guess the would fit the mild of what most people consider craft beer. Some of the taps are safer than others in terms of adventurous tastes.
The menu contains such gems as Ottawa valley poutine made with these awesome chips. Hell, just get the chips. The salads are definitely a bag of mixed greens with some protein thrown on but in an artful and delicious way.
Sausage of the day is always a merry and mustard delight. My go to is the meatloaf sandwich. It is not quite the right loaf of mother's but rather a looser consistency of a really grainy pate.
On the occasions when it is busy, you may wish you went somewhere else but for an after work or a lazy payday meal, well, maybe a patio and a call to the office is in order.
We were told this place as r.... We were told that this place has really good poutine. It looked really funky and interesting from outside, so did inside. Loved the vibe and the staff. The poutine was pretty good but don't expect a traditional one - the fries are kettle chips. Good and different - Jay's fav poutine she had so far. Also had the grilled cheese - good bread, good cheese, but no wow factor. Overall a cool place, cool staff, good food, looks mostly scratch made... Would return.
Should have chosen the grill cheese!. I ate the very good grilled vegetable wrap...but the girl beside me went for the grill cheese and it looked amazing. Oh dear, I have to go back :)
Can't say enough good things. Simply a cornerstone of the neighbourhood with an amazing atmosphere, delicious food and taps that will keep you refreshed all night long. A midtown must!
I have been here several times and it is becoming one of my favourite restaurants in Toronto! The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, the beer selection is amazing (I try a new one every time I go! Their house beer is especially good), and the food is SO SO GOOD. Everything I have tried there - burgers, Mac and cheese, wild game sausage, soups, specials, EVERYTHING - has been incredibly delicious. The only dish I wasn't crazy for was the poutine, but even still, it was decent! I would come here every single day if I could!
4 star experience. Food - amazing pub grub! Everything is brought up a few notches from what you'd expect. Muskoka ribs are expensive for what you get, but are SO tasty and cooked perfectly. Fries are thick cut potato chips, really good!
Drinks - Great selection of fresh beer.
Service - I have never been more impressed than with the wait staff at Rebel house. They work as a team, so there's no need to wait for "your guy", and there's no place in Toronto that serves you your beer faster. Really friendly, open and honest.
Don't listen to the bad reviews! This place is a MUST TRY!
Relaxed, good food, good pub. A nice place for a low key evening.
Great food/service/ambience. Not sure about that comment about Rebel House going downhill. The service has been stellar the past few times I've gone, the food --- which is essentially pub food --- is constantly at the top of its calibre, and the ambience is warm & welcoming. Would recommend this to anyone wanting a casual meal
Overall a great experience. Really friendly staff, nice outdoor patio and a really delicious Burger with amazing thin sliced 'fries'. Strongly recommend.
