I was hesitant, but it was awesome!. Looking for a new vegetarian restaurant, I read the reviews for Buddhist Vegetarian Kitchen. Finding mostly positive comments, my partner and I decided to check it out, and we are SO glad we did! First, the menu is enormous - most vegetarians are used to a small space reserved in a corner of a restaurant's menu devoted to foods made specially for us, but this place has pages and pages of options. If you're into faux-meat, there's plenty of it, and a lot of variety, but there are many dishes which don't utilize these products for those not so much into that. The portion sizes for the entrees are enormous - more like family-style than single entrees, so great value for the price. We didn't realize quite how large they would be, so we ended up with a lot of food (lunch tomorrow, too!). Highlights were definitely the sweet and sour "chicken" (with pineapple!), a noodle soup with really fresh and lovely snap peas, and the red bean dessert buns (they are sort of fried eggy dough with red bean paste inside, and a little sprinkle of sugar over the top - not too sweet, just perfect... left to myy own devices, I could seriously eat a basket of these things!). Overall, I highly recommend this place!
This is where I usually get my Jai, (assorted Tofu and soybean products) for $5, it's always good and tasty!
Crowded, but great food. The restaurant is not that small, but the room is very crowded. It seems as if every possible square inch that can be used for tables is.
Servings are generous (which, given the small table, does require a bit of balancing), but the food is good enough that the servings disappear quickly.
Three of our four were non-vegetarians; all four enjoyed the food immensely.
