I'm not sure why Sarah's got the previous reviewers' negative views. My experience has been positive, with hard working staff serving terrific brunches (as pictured) with inside/outside space that filling up with the neighborhood regulars. Check out their great beer & brunch menus attached.

Better than it was.... My wife and I used to come here once in a blue moon (circa 2007/2008) to have some beers on the patio, because we didn't think the food was that great, and the service was also a little off. We stopped visiting until about 3 months ago, and are pleased to report it's much better than we remembered it. The beer list is fantastic as always, but the service has improved tremendously, the food has been nothing short of excellent (highlights include the calamari as an appetizer - lightly dusted, always perfectly fried and VERY tasty, mussels, the orange chipotle ribs , and the Pad Thai.) My ONLY complaint about this place now is that the ventilation (still) sucks - you'll walk out of here smelling like you ate at a greasy spoon, even though the food and service are much closer to that of a fine restaurant. The atmosphere is excellent - energetic, inviting and comfortably casual.
Good Beer. I have eaten at Sarah's quite a few times and have been happy with my food. The beer selection is amazing and the patio is nice. The service is generaly good, but I am upset to read the comment that Sarah's left for a reviewer who wasn't happy with their experiece. Sarah's, we reviewers are here to bring to light where you may have gone wrong. Your food and service can never be 100% amazing all the time (you wish and so do all the other restaurants) so take criticism with some grace. Your response to the client who had bad Lobster risotto was quite upsetting and I am not the reviewer who got bad risotto. If you have a problem with honesty then don't go looking to see what people think and feel about their experience at your establishment. As you have read, others have not enjoyed their visit there, so take it and run with it and maybe you won't get so many negative reviews.
A great place to go on the Danforth. I live in the neighbourhood, I go regularly with family, never had a bad meal, matter of fact it has always been the best.

Good. Walked in front of that place many times while going to El Sol or Walima a few doors east on the Danforth. Tried it for the first time tonight. The eggplant with chevre was a good appetizer. I had the bison steak. Was expecting a little bigger portion but the meal was very good. The rasberry and almond pie was excellent. Very good selection of beers (many from Belgium). Service was ok. The only real drawback was the music. Sounded like a place to have a pint while watching the Leafs on tv when most people there were seating at a table to get a good meal. Ventilation could also be improved, so our clothes doesn't smell like we're coming from a greasy fish & chips place when we get home.
Menu as diverse as the wall coverings. This is a quaint little pub/cafe on a part of the Danforth without many options for restaurants. Sarah's has a nice patio for the warmer months and the decor inside gives it a bit of a retro feel.
The menu is as diverse as the wall coverings - part pub, part Asian, part bistro - all awesome! The daily specials are always tasty and the regular menu is just as good.
There are no pretentious attitudes there (at least I have never experience them). I am a big fan.
If you are looking for something a little off the Danforth-Greektown beatin' path, Sarah's is a good choice!
We're lucky to have Sarah's Cafe & Bar!. This local restaurant is a boon to our neighbourhood. The food is always good & so is the wine. We always order the Duck Breast with Rioja & usually substitute the potato & veg for the fries because they are so crispy & salty! Our waiter knows us by name, knows what we want & how we want it. I have come to this place for 15 years & we all have our good days & some off days, but year after year Sarah's delivers the goods.
Great food, great menu. Amazing beer list. Disgusting bathroom :)

Perplexed. Sarah's could be a notable place, but it's not. They have a good restaurant in a part of town that is under served by restaurants. The staff is unreliable, sometimes they're great, sometimes they're not. Same could be said for the food. The atmosphere is good but the ventilation is bad. Seems every time I leave there my clothes smell like the fry cooker. The only reason I continued to go back was that when I lived in that neighbourhood there weren't a lot of options that were close to home. In the end I'll say "I liked it" but that's only due to lack of choice in that area.
