The owners here are the nicest folks you'll ever encounter. Pleasant and very accommodating.
Akrams wife makes the best Turkish coffee with cardamom! So good!
Variety of wraps, rice dishes and plates will fill you up for a fraction of the cost you'll pay anywhere else.
Now the sweets.. she makes the most delicious baklava (using rose water!!) and if they're out, it's b/c I was just there and bought everything up to go. No joke! The other stuff is not bad either.

I heard they're looking to sell the place :(
I hope they don't- purely for selfish reasons. But truly, I wish them the best! Great people. Good luck!

Fresh, Filling and Inexpensive. Everything looked and tasted incredibly FRESH!

Our falafels were formed and fried right after we ordered them. The condiments (including red and green cabbage) were really vibrant and crunchy.

My falafel sandwich was really filling! At $2.99 ($4.14 including a can of pop and tax), it's really a bargain!

The place is small, but cozy. It is both a take-out/cafeteria style eatery and a grocery store. So far all my experiences were really great. For $5 you can get a combo: rice (they have 3 types with different spices and vegetables), 1 choice of salad and entre (I tried their stuffed peppers and zucchinis - they are delicious). They have a great selection of pastries (my faves - cookies with walnuts and pistachios, and small philo rolls with apricot jam). I also shop at Akram's for zatar, labane (in my opinion the only labane that can compete with one they sell at Akram's is the one they serve at Taboule's ) and bread with zatar (pita style, but no pocket inside). They sell variety of canned olives, high quality couscous, home-made hummus and other middle eastern delights.

Fresh, tasty, and affordable. I'm surprised that Akram's doesn't yet have a lineup stretching to the front of the store.

After the renovation, the food is served in an ultra-clean environment at crazy prices. I had lentils and rice with chicken and salad for $3.99 today.

The sandwiches are pitas that have been panini-pressed to a nice wedge-shape that is easy to bite into. I've tried the soudjouk (a dried, spicy meat sausage) and loved it.

Update: The "hot meal" special for $3.99 has been updated to include more choices: a salad made from spinach and chickpeas, rice (choose from three types) and stew (choose from over six types). All the food is freshly made.
