I went to marys last week for the first time, for breakfast. I ordered a western omelette and a hot chocolate. It took about 15mins for me to receive my order. I wasnt expecting to get fries onthe side which was a bonus. Also the western was pretty big and tasty. The waitress was very friendly and she refilled my moms coffee about 3 times for free. I plan on going again soon.
BEST Fish and Chips in the GTA. Aunt Mary's is AMAZING! Yes, the place may look a little run down however, the quality and taste of the fish and chips, onion rings, Greek salad, and coleslaw eschews any and all aesthetic distraction. Aunt Mary's is a family owned business which has kept true to its roots serving the best tasting diner-like dishes - always great portions at very inexpensive prices, and don't be surprised if a few extra handfuls of chips find their way into your serving (no complaints there!). The flavour is unmatchable elsewhere (trust me, I've tried many places) - always full-bodied, flaky, crispy, yet never greasy. Would travel any day from the west end to fulfill an Aunt Mary's craving!
Worth the trip.. I have eaten here a lot of times. i live outside of the GTA but when i visit Toronto I always make a stop here. The decor needs some freshening but it is a take out /sit down restaurant so that is not why I go there. Its for the FISH and CHIPs. The fish is perfectly consistently each time and the batter taste is perfect! The pork souvlaki is really tasty as well. Portions are huge and all for under $10. The sea food platter could feed a whole family with a salad. the staff and owners are really friendly, which you don't always get a some food joints in Toronto. A great neighbourhood place but worth the detour
