Found this place on 'near by' Urban Spoon. So glad! Excellent value, delicious flavor, really nice variety. Happy to see vegetarian options too. Will definitely be back to this location! Needs a little refreshing but definitely worth it for the food!
BEST & Most Authentic-tasting Pupusas!!!. The BEST and most authentic tasting pupusas I've had in a very long while, including the pork, cheese, bean etc pupusas - they were all incredible! The staff at el pulgarcito are super friendly, kind, and humble. The prices are quite reasonable especially given the fair and filling portion sizes. My only critique is with respect to the tamales which I personally found rather dry as what appeared to be a result of reheating. Nonetheless, this is my go to place when I'm the mood for pupusas. I've not tried many places elsewhere though, I'm not certain there's any need to do so.
Nice atmosphere. Awesome food - been craving papusas since I first tried tthem and these come pretty darn close.
On a Saturday afternoon it was not crowded. The service was prompt and polite by the owner. The pupusas are the specialty and did not disappoint. The soup which is served only on weekends was excellent. Completely homemade with yucca, tripe, cabbage, and potatoes. May be a bit too authentic for some tastes, but I loved it. Price was very reasonable for the quality and freshness. A gem.
This restaurant is uniquely the best atmosphere. Besides the food being absolutely amazing, delicious, and fresh, the owners are a very nice couple who work hard to share their joy in food with others. Very cozy and loving place to be. Good job!!!
Love their food, completely obsessed with the pupusa's. I crave them and almost come here weekly for them. Everything else we've tried on the menu is delish as well. Good homemade food, made to order so it takes time, but it's worth it! Been to the new location a few times and it seems busier than the previous one on Kennedy. So I'm happy for them!
Home-cooked food. Maybe not the best spot for a date but the food is plain delicious. It was really cold and empty on a Friday. I was curious about pupusas and was not disappointed: gooey and healthy - the perfect comfort food. I've had a bad experience with tamales before but now tamales are reformed for me. The steak was cooked well but it wasn't tough at all. Overall, loved the food but I wish the atmosphere was a little livelier.
Love this spot! One of Scarborough's many hidden gems. The owner was exceptionally friendly and helpful, the prices were great, portions were perfect and the food was delicious. This place may look a little average from the outside, but it's great once you go in. I can't wait to go back!
The food is okay and well priced, the owner is really friendly. The papusas were delish and they had my personal fave: ripe plantain with queso!
Amazing atmosphere Loved the food Pupusa were a must as was the quesadilla
