I was in the neighbourhood at dinner time, looking for something relatively quick, and I saw that Spring China House had some combo meals for one, as part of their regular menu, posted on their window. It is a moderately small restaurant, with seating for maybe 20 people. There was one lady having a glass of wine, and I was the only diner. There were a few people who came in to pick up their takeout orders while I ate.
I chose item #204, which was a combo with an Egg Roll, Fried Rice, Chicken Chow Mein, and Breaded Shrimp for $9.95. The egg roll was served first, with a small dish of plumb sauce. The filling was mostly bean sprouts. A hot and tasty way to start the meal. Then a plate was brought with a heaping portion of the remaining items. The chow mein tasted and felt like they were freshly stir fried. The sprouts had some crunch, and the chicken was tender. I felt that the breading on the shrimp was a bit heavy. It did not come with any sauce, which I thought was a bit odd, but then the server brought a small dish of sweat and sour sauce. Without me prompting, he said the dish does not come wii sauce, but that he brought it just for me. I guess I must be special. :)
So all in all, a nice meal. Better than a food court, and nice service.
