dre: Near work there is a Ginger by Church and Wellesley. It wasn't too busy and they are quite fast, so my coworkers and I enjoyed a nice soupy lunch. Categories: Beef, Vietnamese, . Comments: 0 Comments. No Comments Yet. Add Your Comments. Email (not visible). . Insert value below:
This was a decent Vietnamese restaurant but not the best in Toronto, but it was decent for the price that was given, the service wasnt too bad for an Asian place
I ordered a 5-spice pork belly banh mi and a small rare beef pho ($12 total). The banh mi was decent. I enjoyed the flavours and there was a good portion of meat. The pho was hit and miss. While I enjoyed the broth, the meat was kind of chewy. I agree with the other reviews that this restaurant is well suited for a quick/cheap bite or takeout.
Second time visiting this location of Ginger. The previous time was a weekend lunch. This time it was a weekday, and it was a bit busier. What I like is that they cook the food after you order, instead of scooping from bins with pre-cooked food. So the food does taste fresh. Ginger is a bit better than food court fare, but not by much.
Cheap, fast and yummy. What more can you ask for? the ambience in the actual establishment leaves a lot to be desired (the mens washroom is an experience) but the food is great. i prefer to order online and pick it up, then i don't have to think about the state of the restaurant and how clean the kitchen is. the meat is always done to perfection. i'd suggest the grilled chicken vermicelli... mmmm! the sweet and sour pho is nice as well. and the tofu crispy-rolls are a must! try then, you'll be hooked. i'm a regular!
Cheap and Cheerful. I agree with the comment on nervous about where they buy there food. I try not to think about it when I am there. Frightening to think one would eat with there eyes and mind closed. I do go to china a lot, so I guess I'm use to mystery food. I'm a regular
Great place for rice and noodle dishes. Bad for pho!
I loved this place! The food was fresh, served hot, quick to come out and delicious! Just the right sized portion too. Price was really good for he quality/quantity I got... I also like the ambiance. Big glass let's the street scene show as the snow gently fell. kind PDA modern decor with an Asian-industrial inspired look. Good place to get a beer as well as it was about $4 a bottle so I didn't feel like I was getting soaked
All I can say, great food, great price, big portion. The 3 keys to a successful restaurant. Almost forgot, speedy service, we wait less than 10 minutes for your food every single time. So if you want something fast & cheap... THIS IS THE PLACE!
I've been to 3-4 Pho places so far in Toronto and Ginger def has the best Pho. Despite their small portion size, the flavor makes up for it. Just make sure to order large when you drop by, and maybe two if you are a guy. Ok, now I really want Phoyou. Well it's not rocket science... but basically you order at the front and pay first, then they give you a number to put on your table and later brings the food to your table. I know it sounds super simple and you are probably wondering why the system threw me off in
