This standalone Vietnamese restaurant on Kennedy Road (with ample parking space surrounding it) is a very popular one, having a good menu selection, good helpful staff, as well as great vegetarian choices such as the pictured vermicelli noodle soup with tofu, veg and, of course, the ubiquitous fiery chilli dollop. Delicious!
Came here for lunch with 8 other people. Food is great, fresh & tasty. The space was modern & clean. I love that the chopsticks didn't feel filmy & sticky like some other Vietnamese places I've been to. Also it was a really nice touch for them to wrap their forks in napkins before placing them in the dispensers at the tables.
The Pho with beef was really flavourful and not salty. The plates of bean sprouts, they give you to garnish with was fresh & clean. The spring rolls come with a small bowl of fish sauce & chopped garlic. They seem to care about the little details.
Everything was great & we had a really pleasant experience.
I was just reading the reviews-had to recheck the name and address of the restaurant to be sure it was the same one we attend as we've only had positive experiences with it. In a nutshell, food has been tasty, service prompt and courteous. Totally bewildered about the the 180 degree reviews posted.
Not bad, but nothing special. Food is just what you would expect from a Vietnamese restaurant, its the service and the decor is what makes it stand out....but not in a very good way. The food took way too long to come out, considering that there were only 5 or 6 other people there at the time. The chairs are made of hard wood, and they would be suited better to be in a park, not a restaurant. All that aside, their springrolls are quite good and their soup is decent. Another thing that I found weird was what appeared to be a fight between staff, or the owner and the staff. As we were finishing our meals, very loud screaming and yelling could be heard from the back of the restaurant. I know that you have to discipline your staff sometimes, but it makes my dinner less enjoyable..... However, if you are looking for a dinner AND a show, it's just the place for you! A solid B-
Pho Vietnam has had it's time in the sun. Good pho place but it is overrated by many. 3.5/5
Pho for me is the most comforting food when it's cold out. This place is perfect for that, with cozy atmosphere and good quality food. My go-to place during winter!
