Dim sum is freshly prepared for each order...delicious and hot. Service is efficient and polite; pleasant, quiet background music playing. The food is a little more expensive than it is in downtown Chinatown, but also better. Linen table cloths, nice china, but insufficient paper serviettes; linen would be so much nicer. I would recommend this place for dim sum any time.....but, why is shark fin soup on the menu?
This place is delicious and the dim sum plates are quality. Arrive before 11 and all their dishes are $3.30. The restaurant is decorated like a ballroom which I guess is typical for some Chinese restaurants in Markham. You can tell they hold banquets in this restaurant frequently. Only thing is pay attention the bill. I believe they overcharged us...either they charge for the tea or mis charged us for more plates.
This place definitely exudes quality, not only in the food, the service, the chinawear, but even down to the cleanliness of their washrooms. They pay impeccable attention to the details which is unfortunately the demise of many Chinese restaurants who try to be fine dining.
Everything we ordered on the menu were made of quality ingredients and made with superior culinary skills. You can tell that the person in charge puts a lot of pride in what they serve.
We came for dimsum but I highly recommend coming for dinner service as well. Make sure to call for reservations on the weekend as a long wait is to be expected.
I had a Thanksgiving dim sum feast here for a party of ten. This place was already full by 9:30am even though it is quite spacious inside. My uncle had to show up at 8:30am just to get us a table. Their decor is one of the nicer Chinese restaurants in the GTA. It can be classified as a high end banquet hall. They have a special early bird price for dim sum meaning one fixed rate for all items. You just have to ask for the bill before 11am. We ordered the shrimp dumplings, bbq pork rice rolls, shrimp rice rolls, tofu dessert, sticky rice, beef tripe, curry squid, custard pastry, buns, and shrimp dumpling. They were all very tasty made with attention to detail. Overall, the service was excellent. The final bill came out to just $10/person.
For sure this is one of my favourite dim sum places in the GTA. 5/5 is hard to come around but they definitely do deserve it! Great food, some unique dishes, and their ambience is quite nice (I love the high ceiling!) Service is not outstanding but for a Chinese dim sum restaurant, they are much better than most. Highly recommended.
One of the best in the gta. Solid dishes with attention to detail. Not too much oil or msg either. Prices are low considering the quality. I've eaten several times over the years and never had a bad dish. Even their Korean short ribs are amazing! I am Chinese and have eaten at many spots in North America and this is one of the best. Even my uncle in nyc agrees!
I had my wedding here, the coordinator was AMAZING and the staff were all friendly and awesome. We went for dimsum and dinner here many times before choosing this restaurant. The service and the food are EXCELLENT. For dinner one time we had the crab and shrinp mousse claws, peking duck was outstanding and they bring out the whole duck, then cut it in front of you, then bring it to the back and you get a second course if rainbow chopped duck in lettuce wraps. AMAZING. Our wedding was a 10 course meal, very reasonably priced, they worked out a custom menu for us based on our budget. All my guests have been raving about the food and decor of this place, when you walk in its like the entrance lobby area is paved with diamonds and good everywhere! I cant say enough about their steamed fish, efu noodles and stir fried lobster, all amazing Oh also their dimsum is FABULOUS.
Non Oily Dim Sum. Been here a few times with my family on sundays. Crowded but the line up is not that bad. The lobby entrance is best designed to be glamorous but the dining room shows no relation to it. Nonetheless, the food is a cleaner version of dim sum. Some might say it's bland, but I like the simple tastes. Tea is served with traditional tea pots and cups instead of the chinese ones.
Excellent Service. Spectacular Decor, Much better than any hotel , I was blown away with the service.
I was certainly no stranger when it came to Chinese banquets or dim sum restaurants – I grew up going to them often – but nevertheless, when I stepped into the Crown Prince, I was surprised. It was so different from what I was used to! It was NICE!
