So much food! Went with the Korean beef and it came with a good amount of beef to cook at the table along with about a dozen different garnishes and sides. The soup starter especially was delicious.
One downside, the frozen drinks left something to be desired.
Hands up if you're ready to feast at one of Toronto's best Korean BBQ restaurants! Okay fine, just focus on eating that saeng samgyeopsal. Hard to resist eating immediately at Little Piggy's once the meat is placed on that grill! I've experienced the struggle first hand when I went to visit them a couple weeks back. Although it's summer, I'd still choose to sit in front of a hot, hot grill if my meals were as good as this one. Little Piggy's Korean BBQ is a Korean spot located on Bloor and Spadina.
If you're looking for authentic Korean barbecue, Little Piggy's the place to go. Its barbecue to closest to what I had in Korea. A bbq combo for two came in hearty portion along with many side dishes that will fill you up quickly. I also recommend trying their signature UFO fried rice!
Following traditions, a selection of banchan (side dishes) containing pickled vegetable and fermented kimchi arrives before the meal begins. Prior to the onslaught of meat and carbohydrates, I rather like the custom of eating vegetables first. After all, the salads help to negate the effects of pork belly, right? Aside from the flavourful sangchu geotjeori, a leafy salad dressed in a spicy vinaigrette, the restaurant also serves a mild iceburg topped with a creamy sesame dressing.
Their mixed BBQ combination ($41.95) contains pork belly, Korean-style beef and garlic pork. Personally, I prefer the meat marinated so you don’t need to rely on the garlic oil or bean paste condiments for flavour. Moreover, as the marinade’s sugars cook, they give off such a lovely aroma and leaves a lovely caramelized crust on the meat.
Luckily, Little Piggy’s beef was well infused with flavour: the restaurant uses fruits in their house-made sauces instead of just
Been here twice since it opened--both times impressed by the service and great food. Had BBQ both times, hoping to come back to try their other dishes as well.
Many people have either been to or know about Piggy's Restaurant located in Thornhill. Piggy's Restaurant is a Korean BBQ joint that offers a wide range of different style meat for BBQ, as well as regular Korean dishes such as naengmyeon, jjigae, mandu and much more. Not too long ago, they opened a second location near Bloor and Spadina, called Little Piggy's. The downtown location is quite different than Piggy's Restaurant because the interior is more hip and trendy, and they offer different items on their menu.
When I get a craving for Korean BBQ, it comes in two varieties that can lead me in two distinct and opposite directions. With one, I’ll be heading to the closest AYCE place to eat my fill of salty BBQ’ed ribs and beef for a low price. While the other craving will only be satisfied by delectable pork belly and sends me north to my favourite Korean BBQ restaurant, Piggy’s. Piggy’s specialize in a la carte Korean BBQ that includes high quality beef, and beautiful thick cut pieces of pork belly. They’ve recently opened a second mini branch downtown and invited me to stop by for a meal.
