This is the first burger place I tried in Toronto and it made me feel like home. The ambience is industrial, which made me feel like I was back home in Windsor. All the staff was friendly and willing to strike up a conversation with anyone who wanted to have one.
The food was fantastic! One bite into the burger was all I needed to be in food heaven. They have pretty good sauces to compliment the burgers and appetizers well. However, if I had to recommend one thing, it would be the milkshakes. There is a wide variety and they are a little expensive, but they are totally worth it.
The first time we ate at WORKS, it was in Barhaven (Ottawa). We were enjoying our burgers when, all of a sudden a car came crashing through the front of the restaurant! Thankfully, no one was hurt; "just stepped on the wrong pedal..." I overheard the senior gentleman say when things calmed down.
That being our first experience with the chain, I expected big things when they opened a location near home!
Whenever we order food from WORKS, it's been good. Not over the top good, just solid; nice flavours and well cooked meat. As I've said in previous reviews, with so many burger joints opening open in #toronto, WORKS is in the middle of the pack.
There are many options, most of them have funny names that make the experience that much more memorable (The Ring of Fire, 3-ring Binder, The Hipster to name just three).
The sides are good too. Try the die cut chips.
Reasonably priced too. Served in trays, and drinks come in mason jars and measuring cups. Cool!
Go for a casual burger experience with no hangups. Also, go because it's a Canadian start up!
First time was amazing no complaints. Service was quick with no delays. Everything was explained in detail. Definitely going back
Great burgers!.. best fries!
I have been to this location, as well as the Danforth, London and Kingston locations time and time again. I have never had a bad experience. Food is always amazing, friendly staff and efficient service. Yes, it's a little on the pricey side, but let's be realistic - $15 is hardly excessive for a huge, house-made burger and fresh fries. Which are amazing, by the way. The burger at the Kennedy down the street is $17, not nearly as good and comes with bland, frozen fries. People want great food but whine when it comes at a price.
But that leaves more Works burgers for me :-)
GREAT BURGER.. Had a great time at the works last night with my friends.
We shared the Tower of Rings appetizer and the Crispy Dills as an appetizer they were just awesome. I am in love with the beechouse sauce (garlic, veggie and mayo based sauce) that they provide just mouth watering just to good.
Had:
The 3 Ring Binder Burger
Die Cut Chips
Strawberry Banana Milkshake
The burger was just awesome (Sautéed mushrooms, chipotle mayo, gouda cheese & 3 crunchy o-rings) enjoyed it to the last bite.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Highly recommend it. Will definitely be going back again.
AWESOME !!!
Awesome Burgers!!. Loved Sexy Burger!! Friendly staff and atmosphere! My kids enjoyed their drawings given to them by manager. Manager was very friendly!! Will surely visit again with family
It’s not exactly a burger I’ll remember forever, but it was one that was very well executed on every level.
I had a total burger craving tonight and this place delivered.
I actually opted for their "Son of a Beech" - veggie patty (probably the best I've tasted). Feta, sundried tomato, avocado and their beech sauce (super garlic mayo).
The husband had the "Three Ring Binder"...3 onion rings on that puppy! Chipotle mayo was a good touch.
I love fries, but today I tried the spicy die-cut chips. Much better than the fries. A must-try!
My elder son ordered of the kid's menu, which had a kid's burger with KD on it! (Yep!) That's KRAFT DINNER on a burger. He ate every bite.... I'm a proud momma.
My vegetarian 3-year old loved his KD and cucumber meal.
Drinks and dessert served in Anchor Hocking measuring cups? Love it.
Josh was great - all servers are energetic, peppy and efficient. We've met Gary, one of the owners, and he is great too.
This chain is a great addition to Bloor West Village. They are family-friendly, clean and well, we're regulars!
This is very clean, tidy, and well organized restaurant. I had a great experience with the staff; very helpful in explaining and giving suggestions/recommendations. In addition, the staff had exceptional customer service, she knew it was our first time at this restaurant and gave us extra dipping sauce on the house to try and experiment! The service was fast and they are always on top of serving water without being asked. Excellent quality of food and it is very unique for those who are willing to experience a whole new level of burgers! I would recommend the onion ring tower!
