Little Sheep is on Dundas near Spadina, south side, so easy to reach on transit. There's a Green P lot nearby. It's an alternative to the always busy Morals place across the street and I really like it. Good food choices and service is very good. Price is right too. It's not as trendy as some of the other hot pot places nearby but It's a nice spot to have a relaxing dinner with friends. Well looked after and, above all, a satisfying meal. Good spot for hot pot!
I've had hot pot before, but this was the first time I was trying Mongolian Hot Pot and I LOVED IT!
The ambience of the place is pretty average but the food just makes up for everything.
Since it's All You Can Eat, I tried to make the most of it. You're given a choice to pick from different kinds of sauces that you can mix and match, along with noodles, spring rolls and a choice of drinks which is unlimited.
The main hot pot which is served on your table has a wide selection of meat and vegetables to choose from! You also have a choice of broth to choose from and I got the spicy one. The broth was delicious and our server kept refilling my hot pot as soon as he would see that it's not filled to the top!
What I like about Hot Pot is that you're basically cooking your own meal and you can put in whatever you want. I personally loved the lamb, mushrooms, green leaves, sausages, fish balls but I couldn't stop eating the dumplings!
For dessert you DEFINITELY have to eat the Red Bean ice-cream and the Green Tea ice-cream, although the red bean is much better!
For 25 bucks, I came out of this place stuffed and satisfied. Nothing better to make you feel warm on a winter evening!
I went here with a friend of mine for the all you can eat lunch special. Fantastic! There's lots of menu choices and everything we were served was fresh. You can
even watch the staff slice your order of lamb, beef, chicken or pork in the kitchen.
I left thoroughly sated and skipped dinner in the evening, something that happens very rarely. I'll be coming back with my cohort, who will easily enjoy it as much as me.
The ambience isn't fine-dining by any means, but the staff is friendly and they are extremely quick. Some of the dessert bar isn't particularly fresh (specifically the dessert spring rolls), but the red bean ice cream is a heluva finisher. So much so that I even made room for a second scoop despite having polished off more than 15 plates of lamb!
I am a big fan of Little Sheep Hotpot 小肥羊 when I was in China. It was exciting when I know they have a new chain in downtown Chinatown and I don’t have to go all the way up to Scarborough. They have really good lamb and those lambs were as good as it tasted like the ones I had in Mongolia. All you can eat dinner just costs 25. Green tea ice cream taste like a piece of heaven after devouring all the greasy food. One other thing that I would really recommend is the deep fried bun that you need to get next to the sauce bar. You should dip it in condense milk as a perfect combination with the green tea ice cream.
