After we finished our pizza on one side of the street, we crossed the street to cap off our Italian-themed lunch with a tasty treat at Gelato Simply Italian. Many fresh made gelato choices, including mango, pistachio, fig, tiramisu and more. I was in a chocolate mood, but was torn between the Ciocolato and the Fondente, so opted to have a bit of both. Both were smooth and chocolaty, and hit the right spot.
I come here all the time!! I love it here. The servers are generally Italian and are always very friendly. Its a very cute place with an Italian feel. The gelato is amazing. Some of my favourites are Limone and Mango. My boyfriend loves cassata and pistachio. I would highly recommend this place.
Best pistachio gelato and variety of great flavours. Simply the best pistachio gelato I've tried. I will definitely come back to try out the rest of the flavours and perhaps the savoury items. One thing I'd like them to do is to include english names of the flavours instead of written all in Italian, so people like myself who do not read Italian don't have to keep asking the staff back and forth. There's a charge of $1 per tasting if you do not make a purchase and some flavours like the pistachio cannot be sampled. That speaks a lot already, doesn't it?
There are many gelato places in midtown. This one is the best in my opinion.
Great little gelato place. Bit on the pricey side but its definitely worth it.
The flavors were natural, rich, and just divine. Gelato Simply Italian exceeded my lofty standards and truly rivaled some of the best gelato I had in Italy. I mean, Italy! Now that's pretty freakin' impressive.
When we were faced with the assortment of flavors available there were a lot of oohs and aahs coming from our mouths. We were salivating at the different colored flavors.
Owner Allesandro Buccianti is expanding his business with various sandwich offerings such as panini, tramezzini (triangular) and piadini (flatbread). But today we’re focusing on gelato and this place sells 48 flavours at any given time. Allesandro boasts that he has recipes for 121 flavours which he continually rotates or prepares seasonally.
The décor is modern and roomy with Italian Art Deco prints and huge folding doors which open to allow the light to flood in from Yonge Street – Right near Yonge and Davisville.
We had an office party last week and got to sample over 20 flavours! This place has some unique flavours and the staff is incredibly friendly. The three best flavours we had were: Peach, Pistachio and the Chocolate Chilli. Hollywood Gelato has always been the best in the city but this place makes great competition. If you are near by, come try a scoop!
