I can’t recall when were the last time I visited Paramount, but I remember back then I didn’t enjoy the food as the ingredients didn’t feel fresh or it wasn’t as flavorful as I expected it to be. Well I’m glad to say with my most recent visit, they have changed my mind! This year Paramount introduced their largest menu expansion yet, including an entire new look and they delivered!
When I visited Paramount Fine Foods at Don Mills for their opening, I had the chance to taste bites of their menu items. Even in sample size, the creamy hummus and savory saj wraps were a crowd pleasure. For me, they also whet my appetite for more. So when Paramount invited me to visit their Yorkville location to check out some new menu items, I was happy to oblige.

The Yalla special ($9.99), a dish popularized and named after Paramount’s food truck, is not unlike poutine - cubes of chicken shawarma replaces cheese curds and plenty of garlic & tahini sauce is drizzled over top instead of gravy. However, unlike the Canadian favourite, the sauces aren’t warm so the fries arrive cool losing that hot crispiness I love and crave with fries.
If you’re looking for a shared starter, opt for the mezza plate ($9.99), the selection of dips are fantastic:

The Yalla Special was a sort of Lebanese poutine where there are fries topped with chicken sharwarma, garlic sauce, and tahini sauce. It was a large portion and definitely something you want to share with a friend or two! I loved the garlic and tahini sauce and how thick and creamy it was. The chunks of chicken sharwarma within the fries made this dish very filling too.
The BBQ Chicken Wings were three pieces of whole marinated BBQ wings. Now these might seem like normal BBQ wings to you, but these chicken wings were so tender and juicy. I really liked how the meat was so tender and the marination was just right. It also came with a small serving of sauce that I really liked.
Came here with a couple of friends last night for the first time. We ordered quite a bit, so the only ones I can recall are the chicken burger, the falafel balls, and salad.
The food was pretty flavourful, and the portions were quite large, so can't complain much on that front. I do wish the chicken patty was a bit thicker though.
Service was top notch. Our server was really accommodating, friendly, and always checking in on us to make sure everything was alright.

Say hello to one of Yorkville’s newest middle eastern restaurant located at the corner of Bay & Cumberland. Paramount Fine Foods (@ParamountFoods) opened its doors to the public 3 months ago bringing exotic flavours and also being the first full service halal restaurant in Yorkville. This new location will feature an upscale sit-down dining experience with an open concept kitchen and a wood-burning oven.
So, came across this place looking for a decent chicken shish in Toronto. Took a cab there and found that the place was packed out and there was a queue out the door. Of course, I had to arrive just as everyone was breaking fast for ramadan. So, 20 mins later, i got my table.
I went ahead and ordered the Shish Tawouk and a hummus. First things first, their pitta breads are amazing! Big and crispy! The hummus was rich, creamy and spiced perfectly. None of that over garlic paste you find everywhere else.
Then the Shish came out and was gorgeous, They lay a small piece of flatbread under the kebab to soak up the juices just like i'm used to back in England. Came with a rich garlic sauce and rice. Perfect meal. Definitely coming back. Only loses half a point for the wait time because the food made up for that so much!
I've always thought of Middle Eastern food as healthy and flavourful. There are even times I crave it with intent... Paramount Fine Foods is one of the front runners in fresh Lebanese cuisine and has made a name for themselves in the greater Toronto area. The only issue has been the fact that there is no location in downtown Toronto. Well, now owner Mohamad Fakih has finally opened a Yorkville store. And it is a brilliant move. Not only because the food is healthy and fresh, but because it is just what the neighborhood needed. The menu for all locations is mostly the same, however the atmosphere at this spot is definitely the draw: cozy, airy and quietly aristocratic.

Delicious food. Friendly service and amazing decor. But yes let's focus on what matters - the food!
Incredibly filling, and the best thing is the fresh made-on-site warm pita breads. You can watch them bake those lovelies in front of you!
