Absolutely love the lamb souvlaki here. I get the large dinner and the chunks of lamb are huge. The lamb is very tender and tastey. I love their tatziki its very creamy and super garlicky. Rice and potatoes are good too. Ive been to other places in Greek town but this the best in my opinion for lamb souvlaki. Ive also been to the other Astoria locations and they aren't as good as this one. Been eating here for some 7+ years. Their prices have gone up and a large lamb souvlaki dinner is now $30 plus tax and tip. Expensive and but still the best in my opinion.
Greek/Mediterranean food is one of my favourites. Came here for a quick and affordable lunch. I ordered the lamb souvlaki and was very satisfied. It was a large serving which I love. The potatoes were great too, soft and golden on the inside. Will go back.
Came here tonight to pick up the large Greek salad I ordered over the phone. As you can see from the picture it was huge. There's something magical about the Astoria salad - I know this from the Mississauga location. So in that moment downtown where I craved Greek salad I was delighted that there was another location (of course in Greek town). I've been here before as a youth but coming here now was a good experience and I would like to return to dine in. The service was amazing and the salad was ready right on time. They forgot the utensils but it's ok no biggie. The salad itself was great just a little bit over done with all that feta. The feta made it a little too sweet and maybe too much dressing. The leaves that were free of feta were so fresh (I'm not a fan of too much sauce and feta in general) so some parts were super almost salty tasting with the overwhelming feta but the trick is to get the leaves underneath and try not to mix it all. The tomatoes tastes great and the dressing itself is light and tasty. Next time I would prob say "light feta" and maybe get a small instead as I could barely finish it and the rest went to waste. Their lettuce leaves are to die for though- so very fresh and I could just eat them by themselves with a pinch of the dressing. So good. Their washrooms are clean also.
Ordered from there last night. Generous portions. The best tzatziki I have ever had. It was a great meal and we will definitely be having it again.
Our go-to spot for Greek food because they have the best pork souvlaki in Toronto. Large pieces of perfectly cooked juicy pork come with rice, potatoes and Greek salad (mostly lettuce and feta cheese). Grilled calamari is usually good but last time I was there, it had a strange ammonia-like taste. Not sure what it was. Service is usually on point.
One of my favourite Danforth Greek food places. Obviously being on the Danforth there is a lot of competition but the place is always busy and the Kebobs are very good.
Delicious Greek Food. Every time I come to Toronto I try to eat at this restaurant. My family has been coming here for over 15 years. It's been consistently good for a long time. Looking forward to visiting Toronto soon so I can eat here!
Such amazing food!. I've always loved Greek food. I briefly lived on the Danforth and I always looked forward to the annual Taste of the Danforth festival. Today was my first time eating at this specific restaurant and their pork souvlaki is to die for! They did mention on their menu that their pork souvlaki won some sort of contest, so that explains its yumminess! The waiter we had was an old man who was quite friendly. Although, at times, we did feel like we were rushed to order. But we brushed it off since the service was pretty quick. Before the main entrée, we had the Greek salad and oh my God, their feta cheese was seriously amazing and the salad serving was generous. On to the main dish, I ordered the small serving of pork souvlaki and it was honestly more than enough for me! There were around five huge slices of pork with the tasty tzatziki and I got roasted potatoes + rice. I would return to this restaurant because the atmosphere is really inviting and friendly and it's not too crowded. Note also that I went for dinner today, which is a holiday, so I was expecting full house. They had enough servers so all the customers were happy. YAY! :)
Authentic as it can get. Best Greek food outside Greece.
We often go for the great lamb souvlaki. The Greek Salad and tzatziki are wonderful. Things to steer clear of here: their taramasalata is flavorless and the 'roast' potatoes are not roasted at all but boiled. We paid extra for the steamed veg but it did not taste fresh. Best bet is to opt for the French fries instead. The service is attentive and the patio is great in the summer.
