Tasty burgers, great bun and house sauce, great yam fries, large portions, coleslaw is excellent. Friendly service. A little bit too noisy at the bar.
The food is absolutely great. The fried calamari is one of the best I've had in the city (I prefer grilled 😃 - but these fried calamari are great).
The service is typically slow (I've been there a few times at lunch time) so make sure to give yourself a bit of extra time. The meat deli/butcher offers a wonderful selection of items that you can purchase and enjoy at home.
The ambience is very enjoyable. The restaurant has very high ceilings with plenty of natural light which makes it experience feel very open and interactive. The furniture are new, modernish and very clean. Overall a very enjoyable and relaxed experience.
Great Serbian BBQ with a bottle of wine. Got the Meat Platter 1 for "2-4 people" which is accurate. We were a party of 2 and took home a good amount as 1 isn't a big eater. If you're not after a big $70 platter, try the Royal Cannon, Sausage, or Chevaps. All unique and were the most memorable parts to the platter. I'll be back for sure.
Once in a while when I'm craving a big fat juicy burger I'll head over to Royal Meats. Although a little on the pricey side, the burger huge and is always cooked well. The quality of the meat is definitely noticeable. If you are feel like a good quality burger Royal meats is the place to go.
An upper class restaurant with delicious burgers and they have a wide variety of meats for purchase as well. It is a great Serbian run joint with tasty food and deserts.
The new and improved royal meats is awesome. The food is great and give a true representation of Serbian cuisine. The portions are amazing, service is always phenomenal and the appearance of the new Reno is beautiful! My only negative feedback is that they lost a bit of their ethnicity in this renovation and it does not feel as Serbian anymore, kind of like another jack astors. However i guess that way they get more business.
Royal Meats Barbecue is a place that is undergoing some pretty sick renovations.
The place itself used to be pretty small, but has upgraded into this cool hip sports bar that will be opening a patio to go along with the good food that they have right now. The place specializes in meats of all kind, but seems to be centered on the steak.
I had the steak on a bun, which was a blessing and a curse. The steak meat itself was fantastic. The seasoning was well done and the meat, though cooked a bit more than I liked, still had a great taste. The bad part is that it's served on a hoagie roll that doesn't do it justice. Impossible to eat a good steak between bread. I ended up just knife and forking it like an OG.
The place is pretty sweet and they got lookers for servers to boot. The menu is rather large, and though prices are a tad high for lunch, it's probably a pretty kickass place to go for dinner and to watch the game.
If you like meat, this is the place for you. The most popular menu item would be their Cevapi, which is a Croatian sausage similar to the size of breakfast sausage. The sausages are either beef and lamb or pork and veal.
Both were grilled to perfection and complemented the bread and cheese spread it was served with. The chicken was similar to a schnitzel and the tartar sauce it came with worked well together. My only comment would be that the both meats and the grilled vegetables we ordered were a bit on the saltier side. Someone was very heavy handed in the kitchen that night.
Overall, the service was great and the ambience was very comfortable.
Nelson @RoyalMeats: A unique European style "burger" joint that makes you feel like you are at the butcher. You can see how fresh the meat is as you select it from the appetizing display and watch as they cook it on the spot. These are the chevaps ($8.95 for small) burger which I don't think I've ever seen anywhere else. The pork and veal meat make for a taste that is different from every other burger joint and is a refreshing change a pace. The other unique part is the cheese that is a peppery kaymak. All of this served on a Lepinya bun. The only downside is that this breaks apart quite readily making it difficult to eat. Otherwise it's delicious.

veal. The meat tastes different from ground beef as it's lighter with
some more spices than usual. Not sure how she got what appears to be
crumbled bacon as one of the toppings, but good for her. Maybe this one
is easier to eat as it'll stay together more easily.
I wonder if this place will become more popular now that they have a
downtown location. I hope they do well as they bring something unique
to the fast food table.
