If not during rush hour such during a Sunday peak brunch crush, this picturesque restaurant/café is a lovely hideaway oasis from the frenzy of Little Italy and offers a tasty menu selection with the pictured breakfast omelette a good pick me up for the days' challenges. Good staff, reasonable prices with unlimited customer sit-down parking

This place has transitioned from a great coffee place to a great dinner place. It's right but still cozy. Staff are attentive and the food is the main event as it is supposed to be. I might add I love their cocktails. Creative and old school at the same time.
Enjoyed some caesars and appetizers on the patio at Kalendar. Love the patio here as it's good for enjoying the outdoors and for people watching! They offer brunch on weekends and a healthy selection of other meal choices throughout the day. The food has a bit of a Mediterranean twist.
I really like the look and feel of this place in Little Italy. Great food selections and prices, cosy atmosphere and a lovely patio. Excellent for dates.

On College St. in Toronto just west of Bathurst St. and tucked between quaint shops and restaurants, we happened upon Kalendar; an historic and charming bistro with a unique personality. We were immediately intrigued by the patio décor, accolades that the restaurant has earned adorning the windows and classic black and red exterior – the perfect spot to escape the chilly winter with.
We were warmly welcomed out of the cold by a plethora of delights; a friendly smile from the host, simply gorgeous rustic décor, a gentle hum of the busy atmosphere, and best of all: scintillating aromas wafting through the air. We were seated in a cozy corner by the window and thank goodness for the gorgeous sunshine streaming through that shed light on all of the delightful little details in the dining room. The snug space boasts plenty of natural beauty, from aged decorations to intimate lighting; it’s really no surprise that this nook has been continuously rated Toronto’s #1 first date spot.
We came at just the right time to enjoy a quick brunch, so we perused the menu for some unique choices to satiate ourselves. We went with the Eggs Napoleon ($14.95) and the Banana and Mango Stuffed French Toast ($14.95). The Eggs Napoleon came served on a huge plate filled with savoury roasted potatoes and fruit so fresh you would think you were dining in July rather than December. Stacked artfully on a surprisingly flaky and buttery croissant were hearty poached eggs and melt-in-your-mouth smoked salmon, all layered well to deliver an exceptional flavour in every bite.
The Banana and Mango Stuffed French Toast was, simply put, a revelation. We opted to add a side of bacon ($2.50) to this dish to bring in a sweet and salty balance and it was a fantastic addition. The French toast was very moist and fluffy pairing well with the soft fruit tucked inside, adding a little maple syrup turned every morsel into a warm, gooey mouthful of sweet and tart heaven.
If you have a loved one that you’re looking to take to a romantic dinner or if you’re pro-active enough to jump on some Valentine’s Day plans, you would be very fortunate to sneak in a reservation here. Whether it’s for their scrumptious brunch or delectable dinner, you’re sure to fall in love at Kalendar Restaurant and Bistro.
Good - great for dates and drinks, mussels, black bean hummus, seafood risotto with scallops. Bad - would not recommend the warm pear salad.
A Lovely Time. I have been going to Kalendar for a few years and make it a point to bring all my friends there, especially in the summer! The patio is always great and the food delicious! Also a really good selection of desserts and teas if you just want a nice treat or for a quick meeting.
Delicious mussels!. My bf and I love the the mussels in red sauce and we've also tried their scrolls "wraps" and they're pretty good. But we definitely go for the mussels! The atmosphere is cozy and the patio is great on a summer day.

The spot was great. My hubby ordered the lobster and raviolli and it was disappointing. I had the seafood linguini an it was a bit over salty but still good.
