It was nice, simple menu but it is cash only! Burger has a descent bun, and a well nicely-cooked patty. Standard condiments, no 20 flavours of hot sauce either. I think a lot of the appeal here is simple but good. Also quite fresh too, that really is the true nature of what makes this burger. Will visit again, with cash-money!
Fantastic for burgers and souvlaki. It's been here for decades and has changed but still good! They have started to serve poutine which is amazing on their fries!
I just hammered a banquet burger ($5.50) from Johnny's and it has left me wanting more! There is a wonderful balance of bun to patty and the fried onions just melt in your mouth. I topped it up with tomato and pickle with mayo and BBQ sauce. No seating but I found a corner and devoured my meal. Can't wait to go back.
I have been enjoying the comfort foods of Johnny's since day 1. The burgers are always made to my liking and they are always nice to every customer. I wish that their poutine was a bit bigger so that I get my money's worth.
Came here recently and noticed they renovated. More than the burger, my father and I both love their steak sandwich! It is tender, moist, and tastes so good with sauteed onions and steak sauce. I am also a fan of their onion rings. Lightly battered and super crispy.
Me and my partner made our way to Johnny's one night when we couldn't decide where to go earlier on in the evening and this place was open till 1am. My partner raved about this place so much that I had to give it a try.
The menu was simple with typical drive-in food. Burgers, fries, milkshakes, etc. Price is decent but I thought the poutine was a little expensive. Must be a big portion of that stuff perhaps?
The line wasn't too bad and service was fast and efficient. Toppings included tomatoes, pickles, onions, sauteed onions, and relish. Love sauteed onions so I was happy to see that.
I grabbed myself a banquet burger and fries. The burger itself wasn't mindblowing. My eyes didn't roll back from uber burger goodness but the burger still tasted good. They took great care not to burn the patties and cooked just right. The patties, however, were a little thin for my liking. The fries were crisp and not salty at all. I liked it.
Overall, I wouldn't have raved about it the way my partner did but it was good. It's open late so if I want a burger at midnight, I could probably grab it from Johnny's.
Have been going to Johnny's for years now. I'll admit the quality has slid a little bit but I still love it. For the cost and the taste of the food why wouldn't you love this place? The burgers are huge, the beef is tender and the bun is on point. The fries with gravy kills me every time, something about that gravy. Would definitely recommend for lunch, dinner, and late night munchies.
What is there to say other than this place is a classic Scarborough burger joint that never disappoints. The prices are low and the food is delicious. They did recently renovate, and by renovate I mean they got rid of their old school signage and decided to switch over to modern menus. It hasn'tn changed how they cook and serve their classic food, but it is sad to see the old signs go.
The best place for a burger with cheese in Scarborough...and one can argue, in Toronto. The burger is char-grilled and simple yet oh so good. Don't ask for lettuce though, they don't have it...and I agree, it shouldn't be on a burger.
The strawberry milkshake and onion rings and fries are so very good. An iconic Scarborough restaurant.
