Brooklyn tavern is a super welcoming place to hang out at with some absolutely spectacular comfort/pub style food that's elevated beyond what you'd normally expect (both in quality and value).
Walking into the place you can't help but be taken by the stylized tin ceilings, roomy tables and expansive bar. It eschews trendy hipster chic for modern warmth and never makes you feel like it's too cool to have you dining there. It feels like the most comfortable friend's dining room - authentic and not a put on.
The food comes from a similar place - it's welcoming, comforting with just a hint of style to make you appreciate where they take the cuisine. The roasted chicken is by far the best thing on the menu, it's juicy and plump with a great textured skin that pairs well with the creamed cauliflower. Surprisingly the veggies are the highlight of the dish for me! The brisket burger brings the flavour and is super satisfying to dig into and the brunch menu's waffles or Mac and cheese are next level and NEVER disappoint. Speaking of the brunch menu, make sure to get their spicy Caesars as the ultimate morning kickstart (only on weekends, obviously).
Their Sunday night roast special is worth the trip, no matter the weather. It's huge and savoury for a super value (I had to share some of it with my wife).
I love the craft beer selection, it has a great variety of ales, lagers and my favourite: stouts. Get the Wellington Imperial Russian Stout and drink your dessert, seriously.
Go, eat and be merry!
We LOVE Brooklyn Tavern. The proprietors, Cindy and Dave, make us consistently feel like family. After being overseas for several weeks, this was the first place I had to go for dinner.
Tuesday night is steak night and what a deal for $20. Some of the most juicy steak I've ever had ... and it's a HUGE delicious portion. And Fridays they have incredible mussels as well.
Highly recommend Brooklyn Tavern. Stop in and say hi to Cindy and Dave. You won't be disappointed!!!!
Very nice place to chill and relax with family and friends and have good filling food and drinks at reasonable prices, optimal hygienic conditions and with a really friendly and professional staff.
Ok this place is the bomb. The food is good, the prices are reasonable and the people are super nice. The owner is so nice and it was cute that she was so happy when I posted her dish on my IG story. I had the tofu tacos, the beet frites and the popcorn and it was all delicious. I’m definitely coming back to try the brunch menu.
Drinks are delicious. Popcorn portion is huge. Perhaps a bit too much butter as the majority of the popcorn was soggy. Definitely tasted like paprika; could have used more manchego. Service is prompt and efficient.
Our family of four came here on a rainy Sunday. Despite it being busy, we had a great server who made our little ones feel welcome, and our food arrived just in time. The Divorced Poached Eggs was quite tasty.....don"t let the name throw you off. What was really amazing is that they had almond milk for my latte. We'll definitely be back.
Comfortable and delicious. We made a long-overdue first visit to Brooklyn Tavern for dinner with friends, and enjoyed every minute. The space was well-designed, comfortable vibe. The food was completely delicious, especially the Sunday night roast special and the burger plate. Desserts were just right. We'll be back!
Great brunch, unique options. I came upon this place by accident one day as I was searching for a cool spot, so I decided to walk in. The waitress was awesome, I can't remember her name but she is from England and really lovely.
The brunch menu is really nice and it's different then what I've ever had. I usually have the Pork Carnitas Sunchoke Hash, it's delish and my husband likes the Brisket burger.
Honestly I have not had a bad experience here, it's different and I love the atmosphere. Keep it up.
A total winner.. We live in the general neighbourhood, and had heard rave reviews of this place for the last year. At the last minute, I called for a reservation, but they were full, so only seats at the bar. As my luck would have it, a larger group did not show, and I got a call back that we could have a table :) WHAT a great, comfortable spot. Dave, co-owner, works the bar. Total sweetheart :) Cindy, his partner and co-owner, works the room, lol. She's SUCH a nice person, and found time to chat with everyone. Service was amazing. Better yet, the FOOD was amazing! It started with a wonderful before-dinner drink... they have a creative menu and drinks are great. Solid wine list, and we tried an incredible wine from Oregon. Horseshoes and Hand Grenades. GREAT wine. Loved the paprika popcorn. Brussel sprout appetizer and French onion soup were both great. My mussels were perfect, and the portion was generous. A bourbon creme brulee finished my night. Wow. This is a real find. Reasonable prices for what you get, a FABULOUS and experienced chef, and wonderful owners. What more do you need?
Yummy. Just had out first lunch at Brooklyn Tavern....delicious food, comfortable vibe, good prices. Perfect.
Our new fave place.
Outstanding Burger. Came here for dinner on the weekend in April. Had the Beef Brisket burger $14 - it was outstanding! Cooked medium, so still very juicy and tasty, not overcooked as so many places do it these days. Beer selection is great as well. Service was very good: polite, friendly and fast, all you could ask for.
Definitely worth a return trip just for the burger. I hope they have a patio for the summer.
We came tonight for dinner to try out this place since I just moved in Leslie ville the place is charming the service was great the food was yummy and the place was packed on Tues night
