Interesting pub in the awesome historical Flatiron building. One of the most recognizable buildings in Toronto. Nice sub terranean pub with friendly staff.
I'm so glad i came. Its been years since I've been here. They renovated. It used to be dark and dingy, now it's bright and cheerful!
The restaurant is located in the basement of the flatiron building. .
It's all pay parking in the area. They are all tiny spots too. High chance of having your car door dinged! Just take transit or get a ride. Will also save you stress from having to make sure you don't run over pedestrians. Being in such close proximity to St. Lawrence market there are a lot of walkers. Kids and dogs too!
It's located into the Flatiron building. In the basement. You have to walk down old warn concrete stairs. It's kinda cool really.
It's pretty nice. They've renovated and wow. It used to be dark now it's bright. Even though it's in the basement they have big windows on the north and south side of the building that lets in lots of light. There are booths and tables and booth-table hybrid seating. Comfy and welcoming.
I ordered the small nachos with spicy beef and my dining companion got the burger with goat cheese, no buns and fries.
I'm so glad I got the small nachos. Man, they were huge. They did them great. The chips stayed crispy and the were covered in a tonne of cheese. The spicy beef was a terrific choice. It added that extra kick that just brought them up to great. The only thing.... The guacamole, salsa, and sour cream were poured over the top. That was no bueno. It actually was really messy, covered the beef and made it a bit hard to eat. It also looked kinda weird and unappetising.
The burger. She loved loved it. Said she'd get it again in a heartbeat. It looked and smelled great too.
Loved the staff. All of them were great. Everyone made sure we were taken care of. Even if the food had been crap (it wasn't) I would be back because everyone was so great
I am coming back for sure. Thumbs up recommendations!
Located in the basement of The Gooderham Building, The Flatiron is pretty much what you would expect from a Firkin-esque Pub. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Spuds ($12). This was a classic poutine with a spicy twist. In addition to your standard poutine ingredients, there were also spicy "buffalo-style" chicken fingers drizzled with a creamy blue cheese sauce. It was delicious! I washed it down with a cold $5 pint of Creemore. The service was prompt and friendly.
Awesome late lunch. My friend and I decided to have pub food and a drink on a Monday. The service was good, attentive, fast, knowledgeable, and friendly. The food itself was good (at least mine was) but my friend's butter chicken pie was dry. I found the food in general was a bit too salty for my taste but I am sensitive to it however, my plain and simple burger was delish! It was hot, juicy (not greasy), lots of flavour and the perfect bun! I would definitely visit again in the future!
Fantastic salads! Cozy atmosphere. Love it!
Great location average food. What can I say? It is a Firkin so the food is mediocre at best. Great patio and great location though.
I usually order wings at a Firkin. This evening we both ordered the Crispy Fried Chicken Sandwich with mayo, instead of avocado-ranch sauce. I got mine with lemon potatoes and Gord got his with fries. The lemon potatoes weren't great (I wouldn't order them again) ... Gord's fries were good. It was a delicious sandwich and I would definitely order it again. Raj was our server and he took excellent care of us.
Gord and I had a supper tonight at the Flatiron and Firkin . It was packed but we were able to find a booth in the back. There was a wedding reception near us and they were having a great time! I ordered wings and fries. I really like their lemon dill dipping sauce. Gord ordered fish and chips. Both were good for pub fare.
