Bonjour Brioche on Queen just west of Jimmie Simpson Park is a lovely French café in a period house with a shaded patio serving great French brasserie fare, such as the pictured croques, tasty pastries especially noting the clafoutis and lemon tart, and of course fresh baguettes. Staff are friendly and efficient even when the brunchies flood it on the weekends.
A perfect point for food lovers, they
have different varieties of burger in their
store. Golden salads is my
favourite and a worth giving a shot. They
don't have much seating arrangement but you can
buy and take your popcorn for your walk
journey.
Came here on a Saturday morning and got a table right away (ya I know!). Service was great and the food was amazing. I had some egg special of the day and tried a few scones. Defiantly recommend this place for breakfast/brunch. FYI Cash only. Make sure you come early.
For lovers of good French patisserie and who will do anything for a properly made croissant, this is the best place to go. The croissants, pain au chocolat, and brioche are all made every morning and are so irresistable that I can never eat just one! Their house baked breads (especially the foccacia) are delicious, and if you go on a weekend, the spicy bacon sandwich has to be tried. They also have a chocolate cake that will satisfy any chocolate craving.
It gets very busy on weekends so I would consider ordering to go.
Absolutely delicious! So glad we drove down here to try this place. We came on a Saturday afternoon around 3:00pm so there wasn't much of a line up.
We ordered the quiche Lorraine with salad. It was SO good! Light, creamy & delicious! Will order that again for sure. The other item we ordered was the Croque Madame. This was also very nice but the quiche was better.
If I could I would have, I would have tried everything. Guess I'll have to make another trip down here again soon.
Went to this neighbourhood because it was close to a wedding dress shop my friend was trying a dress at. Arrived at around 10 am, to a lineup of around 8 people in front of us.
The wait was not too long, around 15 minutes. We sat outside in the heated patio. It was warm, not too bad.
Ordered the smoked salmon scrambled eggs, and the brioche. Scrambled eggs were alright, fluffy but nothing spectacular, my friends ordered the benedicts with salad which looked more impressive.
Service was very slow however...
Also ordered a few croissants to go because of the sign that said they were voted best croissants in Toronto, which may be true if only to say that Toronto croissants are really not that amazing... Similar to the good croissants at aroma express bar.
When my plate arrived, it was just what nice brunches are made of – savoury, filling and downright comforting. I even almost finished the side salad as the bitterness of the fresh greens contrasted with the richness of the egg. Finished off with such smooth coffee, it was one of those moments where you find yourself in that blissful headspace.
The spicy bacon sandwich served on the weekends is to die for. Yes, there's usually a line-up out the back door in this cramped, busy spot. And yes, they won't seat you unless your entire party is present. But the French bread is perfect, the fresh juices are delicious and their house salad dressing is awesome.
Came for Brunch today and of course there was a long line. The weather being quite mild, the patio was open with heaters, thus the line went by quickly. Had the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs, chive, caviour and potato rosti. The only complaint was the potato rosti was dried and cold..that wasn't prepared freshly. I couldn't resist their croissants so I got some chocolate croissants to go! They are the best!
