My friends and I were walking in Kensington Market, and were really hungry. This place's menu caught our eye. It's a very small restaurant, not really decorated and kind of old looking, but they have a very cute patio outside. If you choose to sit inside, the fans are extremely loud and it might be hard to hear yourself speak.
The menu is diverse, they have an item on the menu for everyone! We ordered the guacamole entree. The portion wasn't big, but it felt enough for 3 people. The guacamole was very good! We also ordered the pollo tacos. It comes with 3 small tacos in the plate. They were delicious, but a little bit small which felt a little much for the price.
The service is very quick, and the waiters are friendly and can explain the menu items if you're not sure of what to have.
We also had a misunderstanding with the waiter, but they were very nice about it.
Definitely recommend this place if you're in the area and want to grab a quick bite!
Great ambience and good service. The guac and chips was nice. Chips could be warmed up some though. The veggie quesadilla was good, although was surprised about the Moz cheese and the corn tortilla. Never had that combo before. Mex cheese is the best. The drinks were good.
We came here on a Monday night. It has a great atmosphere and we sat out the front. The service was great, efficient and we had food very quickly. I had a mixture of tacos in different flavors which I recommend. This was delicious and so were my friends other dishes.
Soo good! You can tell that the tortillas are made fresh and all of the ingredients are fresh. The wait staff was also very friendly and informative. I want to go back for sure.
I was looking for a cozy place to have a late lunch with a friend this afternoon and after strolling along the street we decided to give Pancho Y Emiliano a try.
Upon entering it was just what we were looking for. The inside was spacious enough so that you were not on top of the guests besides you (like some other cafes in the area) and the decor felt just right where other places try a bit too hard.
We were pleased to be sat by the window and greeted by our server. We glanced through the menu and ended up both ordering the chicken soup to warm us up and a guacamole to share.
Our food came out on time as expected and the guac was bright and tasted quite fresh. The soup was simple and warming with just the right balance of flavour and texture. Like some other reviewers have said the portions are slightly small but for the quality it wasn't an issue for us. Our server was attentive, not pushy but always around when we needed here and super polite.
Upon leaving there was a tiny mixup with the bill and we ended up paying more than we should have and upon realizing this I returned to the restaurant and (I'm assuming it was one of the owners) displayed exceptional professionalism in understanding the situation, communicating with me what they could do and ultimately he was able to exceed my expectations with correcting the bill. I can't remember the last time I had such great, respectful service which is why I would bring my business to Pancho y Emiliano any time. Thanks for the great experience!
I have tried almost every single plate in this restaurant. I have to say that the best one is the Enchiladas de Pollo, just perfectly cooked and pretty generous. The hot sauces are very delicious. The staff are friendly and very attending. The best drink is the Aguas Frescas, the Tamarindo one. Is so refreshing. I totally recommend this restaurant.
Ordered the soft taco with pulled pork!! Loved it so much!!! The taco has so much corn flavor, pulled pork nicely spiced, sweetend with chopped cilantro!! Perfect balanced!!!
Pancho Y Emiliano was open, and with patio space! With a choice between 1/$1.50 or 4/$5, we opted for the latter and had two chocolate churros each. The churros here are fried to order, dusted in cinnamon sugar, and can be injected with a choice of caramel, strawberry, or chocolate sauce, or left plain. Hot and crispy, with the added crunch of the cinnamon sugar, we were thoroughly satisfied with our chocolate-y snack.
I had the fish tacos here and it was yum! Great ambience, interesting music and friendly staff. I will definitely be giving Pancho Y Emiliano a second visit!
