Very good Japanese restaurant. Good cuts, fresh fish, reasonable prices. Decent selection, mostly standard fare. Imaginative rolls. Cute restaurant, good ambiance. Great for date night. Worth a visit.
My Favorite Sushi. Love how fresh the fish are!!! I love all the sashimi and their rolls. My husband loves the teriyaki salmon but my two boys love thier udon with tempura. Their tempura is not too greasy and the udon dashi stock is so yummy. Just like how our grandma used to make. Come to think about it, Yumei was her favorite sushi place. The salad dressing is amazing and light. I could eat five bowls of their salad. The service is prompt and give special attention to kids. Don't need to ask for fork. They bring it atomatically. Little things like this goes a long way.
Yumei Sushi is by far the best fresh sushi I have had... ever!! All fish is fresh, great quality, and fantastically prepared. The servers/staff are all very friendly as well which added to our positive experience. Favourite dishes so far are the fresh water eel sushi, tuna hand roll, salmon sushi and seaweed salad. Looking forward to trying more items soon! So far, everything I've tried has been delicious. Will definitely return.
Had a nice dinner there. Booked a reservation and didn't have to wait. Ordered spicy salmon maki roll which wasnt bad pretty good but I found the spicy sauce they poured over top the roll rather than salmon with a spicy mayo or chipolte sauce I found just hot sauce poured over it was too spicy for my liking rather than the usual spicy salmon most chefs prepare it. I also got the signature roll salmon lover minus the avacado since I'm allergic. Besides the first one they brought which had avacado in it even tho I specifically told them I can't eat it! The second one they brought out was magnificently delicious! Presentation was superb! Def would come back to test the rest!

Love love love!!!! Always super fresh! They have some great original maki rolls I def suggest trying! Best sushi by far. The service is efficient & friendly. They chef always thanks you for coming. It is a little pricey, but the portion size, & quality make it well worth it. The decor us nicer then most sushi places. Casual, but nothing amazing. They do have booths that are semi-closed in, making really nice private areas to have a romantic dinner or a private chat with friends.
Maybe the best sushi in Toronto?. Without the doubt, the best and freshest salmon that Toronto has to offer. The Sushi, Sashimi, Maki, Tempura, etc. is simply fantastic. My wife and I visit Yumei almost weekly as we're big-time sushi fans, and nothing else has compared!
Prices are reasonable, though I'd recommend making reservations as weekends are quite busy.
Fresh, tasty, great service and Chef Young Lee is a MASTER!

Fantastic!. I eat a lot of Japanese food and this place is great, especially our new favorite "Sukiyaki". Absolutely satisfying and prepared with such pride and care.

Great sushi. I was surprised by the numbers of sushi restaurants in The Beach and wondered how they all managed to stay in business. Having tried quite a few, I think this one is the best. The service is GREAT - always very friendly. The food is excellent - really fresh - you can tell the chef knows what he is doing! They are welcoming to kids and overall provide great food at a reasonable price.
