Best fish and chips place in tow! A family favourite since the 70's when my dad was young (I think it actually opened the day he was born!) Amazingly crisp fish, succulent fries and amazing coleslaw. Great family atmosphere and the staff are friendly. The aroma angers with you for days and you can guarantee a satisfied feeling. Wish it was bigger though, and good Friday lines are huge.
Ive been coming here for years. Its always been amazing. Havent had fish n chips from anywhere else in over 6 years nor would i like to. . .
I moved to Toronto from England 9 yrs ago, and can honestly say this is the real deal! The chip are authentic English chippy chips! The fish and batter are also fab! This is going to be my new chippy :) If i could wish for anything else, it would be that they did curry and chips too. However if youre from the UK you will love this place.
Great fish n chips. Just finished up a meal with our young kids, everyone is stuffed and happy! Can confirm the chips were soft and brown! Perhaps Cfbacon should give it another chance.
Excellent halibut and chips. Dont forget the coleslaw, and fresh bread with butter. Love the atmsophere. Worth the drive from any where!
I liked it well enough but have had better, cheaper.
Delish. Love this place for fish and chips. My trick is to order two pieces of fish and fries on separate plates. This gives you more room to maneuver with the ketchup and tartar sauce. I like how they're not cheap with the tartar.
Halibut is awesome. The staff is friendly and nice. My grandma loved going here and they even offer a seniors portion. Best fish and chips in the city.
Eating here is like going to the Pop Shoppe. If you are old enough to remember the Pop Shoppe (by this I mean, actually driving with your family to the Pop Shoppe on Markham road and picking up a case of cream soda or cola) then a visit to Duckworth's will seem eerily familiar to you.
When I go I like to order the battered fish with coleslaw. The chips are okay - I really like that they don't oversalt them like other places - but not as memorable. The crispy battered fish with a spoon of coleslaw is divine. I would also recommend buying a slice of bread, which is excellent and super-cheap (.65 a slice)
It’s REALLY good but, very expensive for quantity. Used Uber, it was 18.00 for one piece of fish + a basket of fries. I would rather pay 22 dollars or so and get another 1/2 piece of fish or something. Again, awesome quantity. Loads of fantastic fries. But not nearly enough fish :(
The best fish and chips in town. The haddock and the halibut are cooked to perfection. Yes it’s a bit greasy but that’s the fun with fish and chips. The quantity is great and the prices are very reasonable. The staff here are also super friendly and provide excellent customer service.
Great local joint for fish and chips, they do a ton of take out so be prepared to wait a bit if you go during dinner time. Prices and portions are also very reasonable.
My go-to for fish and chips. Lack of mustard and hot sauce keeps my wife from loving this spot, but tastes great with a healthy dose of ketchup. Pretty greasy, but batter is a great balance of light and crispy. Usually add their creamy coleslaw or buttery bread.
Great halibut & fries, portions are thick pop-tart size. Creamy coleslaw was tasty and slices of italian loaf come pre-buttered. Only downside for us, the gravy was very bland, rich color didn't match to taste. Not a deal-breaker, especially when you've got malt vinegar for fries.
Pretty great - I remember eating darker fried fish elsewhere but this is probably healthier. Tastes amazing - all the fish (they would try to upsell you to the most expensive fish, don't fall for that) and all the fries. They don't expect tips and turn extremely courteous and sweet if you do tip them.
I ordered a halibut sandwich. It was a perfect amount. And the bread was so soft.
Hands down best fish and chips in the city. Costs you a pretty penny but worth it if you care about what you're eating. I try to get here once a month. I've experimented with many many fish and chips locations in Toronto and the Kingston road Len Duckworth Fish and Chips takes the cake. Be prepared to drop 20$ for Halibut, Chips and a Coke.
