amazing
Fresh, varied, imaginative, delicious. The seaweed salad is particularly good- a perfect balance of heat, spice, sweet, salt and cool. The eggplant with miso glaze is beyond eggplant. Service is professional and friendly. Atmosphere is pleasant, arty, low-key. We'll be back!
Everything we had was delicious. We loved the flavor combinations. The atmosphere was lovely. Nice decor. The wait staff was attentive and very pleasant.
Really amazing food here, tapas style fusion dishes - but the service was somewhat slow and didn't seem to be that attentive. Would recommend this place for the food though!
Jesus Christ! This place is killer. Every dish melted my heart and I literally could not stop ordering so I could explore every menu piece. Favorite was the Arctic char ceviche and the beef cheek curry. Do yourself a favour and just go!
Great spot. Great variety of food, love trying different unique dishes.
Delicious! I went tonight and grabbed a table for two with no wait, lucky us, as the place is quite small. We shared 4 dishes: taro fries, scallop ceviche, shrimp mango salad and duck tenderloin fresh rolls. Everything came out promptly and was fresh and delicious. Try the ceviche, it was amazing!
With an asian fusion menu, Foxley's dishes plays delightfully with interesting ingredients and flavors.
The fried oyster hand roll and oven steamed cod is a MUST TRY. The broth in the cod is incredibly tasty with bold and palette pleasing flavors.
Will definitely visit Foxley again.
My hummina hummina place. Foxley is excellent at preparing dishes that make you crave for more. Tangy, sweet, savory, spicy, light and zippy, rich and tender. It showcases it all! This is my go to place for medicating myself with food. The portions are sharable and in that sense quite affordable. The spicy, crispy shrimp is how I lure my homebody partner out for the evening. It's addictive! One mention of it and we're out the door.
All the ceviches are fresh, balanced in acidity and delicious. My personal fave is the sea bream ceviche.
The sweet and sticky grilled side ribs is the stuff good bbq dreams are made of. Not to mention the braised pork belly and the beef cheek in red curry with a lil spicy peanut thing going on, wow! Rice and steamed buns to sop up all the tasty sauce is a must!!
Foxley is an excellent place to be adventurous with food. I dared myself to have the grilled beef heart one time and boy was I pleasantly surprised. Didn't need to fake approval just to be right, it was tasty!! Came across like thyme seasoned grilled beef kabobs.
Go to foxley! There's something for everyone. Go early or you'll have to wait round 45min. If this happens have a drink at the Painted Lady. The bartenders are sweethearts. Or go to Reposado just south of Foxley on the west side for a yummy tequila cocktail. It's worth the wait. Enjoy!
ps. the ambiance is the pits. As in nil decor scheme. It's about the food there. And as far as the service is concerned, you get what you give. I've always been made to feel welcome.
2nd favorite in the city. I just posted a review of my favorite restaurant in the city (the black hoof) so I thought I'd do one for Foxley too - a very close second. I've been a handful of times over the past year and have never been disappointed. Lovely, attentive service, casual/comfortable atmosphere and great food.
My favorite menu items are all ceviches, the pork belly (melts like butter in your mouth), and the ribs. No bad dishes, though I like these better than most.
Can't go wrong at Foxley if you're in the mood for Asian-influence dining! A much, much better restaurant that similar ones like Origin or Lee.
To Die For. I live in Ottawa, ON and every trip I make to Toronto is accompanied by a trip to Foxley. Went this past Friday night, waited an hour (at 6:30 pm) for a table of four - and it was well worth the wait. We ate the dumplings, steak in chimchurri, ceveche, side ribs and the steamed black cod - I wanted to lick the serving dishes it was so delicious. Can't wait to go back.
Asian fusion in Ossington. I had the Ceviche, which is so tasty though serving wise was so-so. I believe this is their famous dish here. My husband had the Jumbo quail with mango salad,& I must say that it was so gooooood!! Best mango salad I had. The cocktails goes around $14. The place is usually packed during dinner time so make sure to come early. The back patio is also perfect for small gatherings. 😀
Excellent restaurant, definitely check it out. Solid 4.6. I would suggest they take the lamb dumplings off the menu, it's good but underwhelming. Everything else is good, why bring it down with something so ordinary? That's my two bit. The photo is the scallops. Great dish. :)
This is a great little spot for Asian inspired tapas. We got the inari sushi, oyster hand rolls, garlic shrimp, Asian vegetables, and the truffle whitefish. All of it was so delicious. They also timed all the tapas coming out perfectly and in the perfect order.
My favourite was the inari sushi. The mushrooms paired with the sweet inari was really satisfying.
My partner could not stop raving about the truffle whitefish. He said it’s the best fish he’s ever eaten. He liked it so much he asked our waiter to pass that message along to the chef.
Everything was great and we really enjoyed our time here. Can’t wait to come back!
THIS PLACE IS A MUST VISIT! We got scallop ceviche (omfg, so good), ribs, oyster handroll (so good we ordered twice), shrimp, all fantastic. Literally, exceptionally excellent. For the drinks we got the cocktail sour, and old fashion, both were amazing- and strong. I can’t believe I lived in toronto my whole life and only discovered this place now, I will definitely come again and again and again. Servers are all so friendly, kind, and the chefs are talented. Highly recommend!!!!!!!!
I went with a group of 5 and was able to snag one of the last open tables around 7. We ordered the following to split:
Salmon tataki
Sea bream ceviche
Grilled lemongrass Cornish hen
Thai curry vegetables
Arctic char ceviche
Inari sushi with mushrooms
Steamed rice
All were absolutely amazing (favorites were ceviche, Cornish hen, and curry). Our waiter was very attentive and was great at recommending items as well as listing gluten free items. I wish I had the space for dessert because I'm sure it would have been phenomenal.
My friend and I spontaneously selected this bistro for a sit down meal. Everything we ordered was delicious!! The Ginger/Green Apple Ceviche, scallop hand roll and kale salad. Totally going back!!!! Everything was very flavorful and the wait time between food was perfect.
Went there last weekend with friends from out of town. Ordered several plates for sharing. Definitely recommend the beef cheeks curry, the ceviche, eggplant dish, the fish and the pork ribs. Everything tasted great. Going back again 😊👍
