Veru nice place to go
Went for lunch with my friend. The food was very tasty, the service was fast and very good. I had risotto with mushrooms and I really enjoyed it.
My favourite brasserie in Toronto which offers a French style carte du jour with excellent wines and correct attentive & knowledgeable service. In addition to the savoury dishes that have been reviewed here, leave some room for the excellent desserts - in particular the Tarte au Citron when it is seasonally available. Bon Appetit!
More like a family style French food. The onion soup is bit too heavy for me. We like the cod potato pate a lot, nice texture and absolutely delicious. The deer meat is also cooked to perfection. Overall it’s a bit pricy but great experience.
Omg I love this place. Came here for a little intimate wedding - food was amazing. The decor is very cute - just like how you would imagine a casual French bistro to be. Started with the French onion soup - was a little too cheesy for me but delicious regardless. I had steak frites for my main course - steak was cooked perfectly. It was super tender and just melts in your mouth. I did not have the lamb but the presentation was absolutely amazing and from other guests it tasted great too. Ordered the creme brulee for dessert - overall good but nothing that stood out specifically.
My experience at le select bistro was great and I would definitely return for the steak
The is gorgeous place with beautiful patio. Feels like you're in Europe. Excellent service and food. Had the croque Madame and the saumon tartare. Delicious
Love the cheese and wine selection here. The food was decent, but nothing special. The service, however, was EXCELLENT! I also love the way it's decorated. The food didn't wow me, but I recommend others try it. It's probably still my favourite French restaurant in the city, so far.
Consistently good meals, attentive service, beautiful interiors (especially the large, bright room at the back of the restaurant). Affordable $35 prix fixe menu. Smoked whitefish terrine was amazing, as was the delicious salmon tartare. Red deer main was perfectly cooked, and the toasted barley accompaniment provided a great textural crunch. A bit oversauced, but hardly enough to remark on. The beef short rib main was the star amongst the mains. Decent wines by the glass, and extensive wine list.
This French bistro is one of my favourite Toronto spots. I have been probably five times and have attended a wedding here as well. The French onion soup is a meal in itself and is so overwhelmingly good I can't describe it. You just have to go eat it.
Came without knowing that they were doing a special weekend brunch promotion, so I was a tiny bit disappointed when I discovered that they weren't offering their regular menu during the time. Was looking forward to having particular dishes... but oh well, next time!
I ended up getting the millet beet risotto with foraged mushrooms, parmesan cheese, and poached egg. The presentation was lovely and overall, it had a nice balance of different flavours/textures. The beets gave the risotto a rich ruby colour but other than that, I couldn't really taste the beets themselves. My mother makes a lot of millet porridge so the risotto (albeit well-made) seemed pretty standard to me.
Also tried a bit of the lamb burger, which was actually really good. It came with a large lamb meat patty that was moist, flavourful, and done perfeeectly.
One of the things I like about Le Select Bistro is its quiet and understated charm. I mean it's still an upscale French restaurant but it maintains a laid-back atmosphere that's partially due to its remote location away from other restaurants and the busier streets of downtown Toronto.
Oh, and they support sustainable food and farm practices! Most of their ingredients are local and organic. For example, I think they get their eggs from some Mennonite farm in Ontario. Wooo, Mennonite eggs~
Great French restaurant. We came here for a family birthday dinner. Unfortunately they were out of a couple of the wines we tried to order but the server was helpful in choosing some similar bottles. And she made sure our glasses were never empty.
I tried the cheese board to start (3 cheeses for $17 with bread and grapes) which was delicious and my boyfriend tried the charcuterie. Slightly odd that the charcuterie was served with a pate but no bread, but no biggie he just asked for an extra bread roll.
I had the mushroom risotto as my main course, and my god was it delicious. I haven't had truly proper risotto like that in years. And the foraged mushrooms were so tasty. Just a pleasure to eat. I was so sad that I wasn't able to finish it all and forgot to bring my leftovers home. I will definitely be going back to this place to order the risotto again and try a couple of the other veggie options (not many, but at least the ones they do have are incredible).
Everyone was too full to order dessert but they brought the birthday girl a little brownie with some gelato as well. We all passed it around and took a bite - very good! Whatever that gelato was, it was VERY good with a nice little kick of sourness and the brownie was delightful.
Overall, we were all very impressed with our food and the service and will absolutely be returning. Would recommend to anyone.
Excited to say the that this stalwart reopened! We had to give it a try on this their first week. Great to see some of the original service/bar team back. We sat out on the patio on a great evening. The menu is pretty much the same as we recall. The food was excellent! The service was also wonderful and warm. Our apps consisted of traditional French fare, Deviled Eggs & Escargot. For our mains I enjoyed my goto dish, the Cassoulet with the Duck. The rest of our group enjoyed Sea Bass that they said was wonderful. Let the pics tell the story. Their Apple Tart dessert was off the charts delicious! It was a perfect desert to share family style with our 4some. Boy we’re glad Le Select is BACK!
Came here for brunch on July 24th after over 2 years of waiting for them to open back up! Totally worth the wait. I had the steak & eggs - the steak was cooked perfectly, was nice and juicy, and the eggs were done how I like them, and I loved the addition of the au jus poured over them.
My wife had the Tarte du petit dejeuner and loved it as well.
Marco was our server - he is an excellent member of the team, knows his stuff well and was on point with absolutely everything. He took fantastic care of us and is the kind of server you want at your restaurant!
Very pleased with everything overall and can't wait to come back for more meals!
The best dining experience in Toronto
Everything is just so perfect here
Great service, delicious food
Please do not omit the desserts, you will not regret
First time experience of a future regular. Having just returned from Paris, finding this gem down the street was an unexpected treat.
Service, quality, and ambiance all 5star.
Love this spot! Have been many times, great menu and atmosphere! The patio is so pretty in the summer and the restaurant is so cozy and romantic in the evening/night. Food is delish!

Beyond happy Le Select is back and better than ever! Was very pleased to see some additions to the menu. The lamb is divine. Same beautiful bustling atmosphere. Really appreciate the personal hello from Yasha - those little touches go a long way to make an excellent dining experience! Well done.
I dined on the patio on the 2nd night of reopening and had a great experience. You would not have know that the restaurant was newly reopened. The service was seamless and friendly and the food was amazing. My group enjoyed every dish we ordered. The patio had a great ambiance. I will definitely return. Our server was Bryce and he did an excellent job.
Le Select was one of my favourite restaurants in Toronto before COVID. When it closed I was deeply upset and had already lost the hope that they would reopen one day, until… Early this no the they weee back! I was so excited and have to say the the food is as good as it was before! They have long selection of wine, the staff is super helpful and friendly! We had eggs Benny and croque monsieur and everything was delicious, including the lime pie we had as a dessert! Only thing that they missed is that before they would serve a French baguette with butter before your main meal and they no longer do it. Other than that, Le select is still one of My favorite places to go in Toronto!
2nd day back in business! Our waitress Sophia was lovely and provided excellent service. The food was tasty and nicely presented. The menu however shrunk and some favourites are missing 🧐 no more lamb burger nor duck confit ? According to a rather arrogant and argumentative ,suit‘ this was a new restaurant and the menu was the new chefs creation. Note: nothing inside the restaurant has changed, but the menu…Not the best answer for a new business venture… well, best of luck! I hope you treat your staff better than your customers 🤨
