We found out about this Delicious Chocolate Store while walking through the Distillery District.
SOMA Chocolatemaker has two (2) shops and a small chocolate factory in Toronto.
From Bean to bar chocolate, cookies, truffles, gelato, hot chocolate and More!
They are always looking forward to Developing New Chocolate Creations which are always in the works!

This is a lovely and spacious chocolatier just opposite Cluny's at the eastern end of the Distillery - with shelves full of packaged chocolates, a counter for individual selections, and another for eat in/coffees with indoor space for savouring in. The staff is cheerful and fast and the crowds just flow in and out.
Love the gelato and hot chocolate selections they have here. They have a lovely display of chocolate treats and some flavours from around the world. A little gem for chocolate lovers.
very beautiful chocolate maker shop. The packaging of their chocolate is very cute and some single cacao chocolate has very high-end packaging. Very suitable for both buy myself and as a gift
Toronto is a funny place where a stale idea can be taken as their own and elevated to a Toronto only thing where the homegrown can sometimes be a little undersung. Soma, in spite of the many accolades, still remains under appreciated. One of the only bean to bar chocolatiers in North America. They are incredible.
Next time you go to a chocolate shop, ask where they get their chocolate. Most do not make it but rely on European chocolate makers. This place is a treasure.
In one of the early years, I got some nibs and made a beer. I still think about it. These guys are making innovative flavours from scratch. In the distillery district, it makes for tourists to have a better idea than the locals. Please, for the sake of all that is heavenly and profane, visit and indulge.
You can actually see them making chocolate,it's so heart touching. And their chocolate is obviously worth recommendation. It's a dainty place, but very professional.
This place is sinfully good & a must for all chocolate lovers...on second thought, not just chocolate lovers, everyone! Chocolates should be enjoyed this way, yummmm...
The hot chocolate with milk is a must try. Their chocolates are just evil. Summer they serve gelato as well which is addictive. Recommended.

I decided to kill some time with a spicy Mayan hot chocolate at Soma. A decedent hot drink on a rainy and cool autumn day.
The store is filled with pure chocolate made naturally with the finest cacoa beans. You can watch them work in the chocolate lab while you sip your hot chocolate.
Or just do a chocolate shot, either way it's delish!
What can I say about Soma that hasn't already been said?! Decadent, well-crafted chocolates that make a dent in your wallet, but are worth every cent. Their gelato is also amaaaaazing. Highly recommend the roasted almond gelato!
