I'm Korean. Been around the block. Tried all the different 짜장면집's in the GTA.
짜장면
pros:
portion is good for price.
They also have happy hours from 3pm to 5pm for the price of $5. Worth it. Noodles arent spaghetti noodles like some places (👀👀)
Cons:
Wish had a little more kick to the flavor. Seems a little run down on the sauce.
깐풍기:
Pro: small size has a decent portion/presentation
Cons: too crispy with no meat that's nice and juicy. Pretty dry .
Overall it's good. But not exceptional. But probably the best 짜장면 in town.
Whenever I go to this place, I always have great food. I don't understand why the rating is so low and people say that the food is overpriced. It's probably my fourth visit and the food is just so good and in fact, not expensive at all. This time, we had half and half tangsooyuk (sweet fried pork) and yangjangpi, which in total was $20, jjajangmyung ($7), seafood spicy noodles (jjambbong, $10). A bowl of noodles just under and at $10 and two wholesome dishes of generous amount, which contain meat and seafood, for only $20? I don't want this place to run out of business, so please try and enjoy their great food.
I forgot to take pictures of the other two dishes but everything was really delicious and portion sizes were pretty big! I’d definitely recommend this place for Korean style Chinese food!
For the chicken, the batter was pretty thin and the chicken piece were pretty big. I was pleasantly surprised!
